Is this true? I feel hurt. 😦
Can anyone tell me if this is true or not. I’ve seen this on several different internet sites now and I’m feeling really hurt. I just joined here and openly revealed my faith and now I am reading this on other sites. Should I go? I didn’t realize this was an exclusive site. Lee Dodd Purchases Foru.msI reviewed the website foru.ms a few months ago and gave it a pretty poor review. To be honest, it has surprised me over the past few months. The site has become more open and, although it is still overflowing with anti-Mormons, the owner has allowed LDS members to moderate a forum for discussion about LDS topics (called a “community”). A pretty Christian move, if you ask me. That may change in the near future.Lee Dodd, who first came to my attention for his recent participation in the controversial sale of ReligiousForums.com, has purchased foru.ms and made his opinion on Mormonism and Mormons in the community crystal clear. I’m including a few examples from his announcement thread.The question that everyone (or at least the Mormons and their antagonists) were wondering came up quickly. He was asked whether or not be believed that Mormonism is a cult. His response was clear, concise, and left no question. “Yes sir, I do.”
This was then followed up with the question, “How do you plan to include our LDS (that’s Mormon for those who may not know) friends? Can they have a congregation area even if they are a cult?” Lee responded, “Excellent question and not sure exactly what my feelings are on that. Not sure if I want them to have their own forum, definitely something to consider and decide upon.” So, something that was debated heavily for weeks, will now be open for discussion again. Further discussion about “non-Christians” being moderators on the forums followed, with Lee saying that he wasn’t sure that was in his vision. I’m not going to say that Lee is a bigot. I don’t know him, and I don’t know that is the case. I was recently reading an article (I wish I could remember the source) that mentioned how open prejudice against Mormonism is one of the still accepted forms of discrimination in our country. This is a great example of that. Could you imagine the outrage if Lee had posted that he would have to think about allowing blacks who consider themselves Christian to participate freely in the forums? Honestly, I don’t see much of a difference and 150 years ago, that might have been an acceptable position for many Southern Christians. Things may not have changed much in some circles. It seems that the prejudice has shifted its focus. What I will say is that these comments show he is an inexperienced CEO and has a lot to learn. He is also horribly misinformed about Mormonism. He may surprise everyone, but so far, it looks like foru.ms is in for some more change and turmoil. I would invite Lee to send me his case for Mormonism being a cult and non-Christian at any time, and I will happily respond to it on this blog. If not, a public apology would be a nice way to start mending fences. Obviously I can not post the link but I am sure you guys can google to find it. Lots of love to you all! |

I would call that hear-say at best. Everyone here has their own personal opinions and views on religious matters, including the mods, admins and owner. That doesn’t mean that we can’t all co-exist here, it’s a diapering/parenting board not a forum for religious discussions. None of the DS staff here that I have seen have said/done anything that would indicate religious preference. That said I think your post is very out of place and very rude…who cares if Lee does/doesn’t like any group of people, that’s his business and as long as he keeps it seperate from this forum who cares.

I know that one of the mods here is LDS and so are many users, so no matter what Lee’s personal beliefs are, you can be LDS and an active member here.

Whomever you are, you seem to be going to great lengths to openly start an attack on someone and something personally. That alone makes me distrust you. This isn’t a forum that encourages segragating members based on faith or otherwise… diversity is part of who we are. With diversity comes a wide range of opinions, and we are entitled to those feelings even if someone else disagrees. I don’t think it makes him wrong, just honest. Creating such a forum would be very bad news indeed.

You know where she went, and all you have to do is go over there, and she used her same username ~Journey~, and she can be quoted from said place saying the same things I already said. I just dont understand why they want to keep coming back? If they dont like it here, why come back, and work so hard to create bogus usernames? Dot they have better things to do with their time?
