Virus attack AGAIN – 5th time!!!

This is the 5th time I’ve been attacked while on Diaperswappers.com Thankfully my virus software caught it this time. I’ve had to wipe my hard drive twice already = lost everything!! Why does this keep happening?!?! Is anyone working on this??

My computer popped up with a message stating my computer had been attacked by a virus – then the diaperswapper website went to this odd website and it kept telling me to download this file to prevent all data from being lost – when I clicked OK my McAfee said if I clicked ok my computer could be infected…. So I didn’t click it…… I was on my email and the family roots site – the same thing happened the other day and I just had DS open…..

Re: Virus attack AGAIN – 5th time!!!

I had the same thing pop up, amongst other things early yesterday morning.

I have a firewall, mcafee virus protection and a spyware program and I didn’t click on ANYTHING and still got it. Oh, and I have a pop-up blocker, too.

My partner (she is an IT geek ) ended up working on it for more than 6 hours last night.

I had 6 viruses and 2 trojans (originating from here, according to the source code).

I am getting rid of McAfee, b/c obviously it didn’t do it’s job (switching to AVG).

I just wanted to tell you that I was browsing DS last night on the feedback and transaction board and my virus software started going off and saying there was a trojan horse and did I want to abort. So I did and then tried to get into it again and it did it again, I attempted to get back in to DS 5 times and each time my computer started going crazy. I tried 5 other tabs I had open at the time and all worked fine.

I’ve had this computer for 2 years and have never, ever had the virus software issue a warning until last night.

I am really worried about being on here now.

Do you know if there is a problem?

Thanks
Brandy

The game is deny-deny-deny. When the major outbreak happened before, I wasted A LOT of time taking screen shots every time something showed up, only to be told I was, essentially, just a “mom”, not very computer literate, and it was an issue with whatever else I was doing on the web, NOT DS. Pardon me, but my husband is a computer forensics master, who has assisted me in dealing with the viruses from DS. I am well-informed, and know EXACTLY where the worms, Trojans and Malware are coming from.
I have been a member of DS in good standing for more than two years now. I’m not some vindictive housewife who hates DS.
FTR, Sally, I really do appreciate your persistence in posting and dealing with this. It’s not the mods I have an issue with in this situation. It’s the recurring virus issue that SHOULD NOT exist, but for the love of money made in advertising here.

And it goes on and on for 9 pages so far. No announcement from Admin other than “we aren’t finding an issues, our site is clean” BS.

Anyone know what WAHM is acting like this?

What should I do…DS WAHM (http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=832005)

What should I do…DS WAHM
I purchased 2 customs from a WAHM on 5/28. She said they would be done within a few weeks. Few weeks came, they weren’t done. Gave me an excuse, said they would be finished the next week. Next week came, no communication. I had to keep contacting her. I asked for a DC number…she said she would *try* to find it. Found it but never gave it to me. Claims the items were lost in the mail. Said she was going to the PO to get it figured out. She said that since it was “lost in the mail” she would make new items and send out by the next friday. 2 fridays went by, I pmed her and asked for the DC number that she said she would provide. She still has no responded to me. I am pissed to say the least. I have been more than patient and I have a feeling she never really sent something out in the first place. :headscratch: She has my money and I have nothing. Meantime I have been checking her posts and she is constanlty posting about all the new things she has made! I am soo mad it’s not even funny. What should I do, what can I do to try and get my money back? Since she has a DS WAHM thread I am assuming I should let ADMIN know of the issue.

Is this becoming a new DS rule. I don’t think people will agree with me, so close my thread?

Thanks for the advice! I have some great ideas so I am closing this thread. ๐Ÿ™‚ (http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=829261)

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, support, and advice in reference to my dog. I appreciate it. I have some good ideas to start incorporating this week. I felt I should probably close this thread as I sense drama starting and really was looking for just support and advice. I know animals are close to people’s hearts…definitely mine included so that is why I posted here as I am no expert and was looking for some ideas. Thanks again! Have a great week!

Re: My dog FREAKED out! It was awful…….what to do? (long and horrible for me)
<<I understand some dogs want their space..dog beds are great for that. >>

NO they are most certainly NOT. A dog bed (which we have tons of all over the house) does not protect a dog from a marauding cat, nor from a pushy toddler.
And I cannot believe this thread, in which a person is asking for support and advice, is being turned into a thread for people to judge and bash the way she cares for her dog. If a stranger told you how to raise your KID, you sure would bristle!

This is what I was wondering. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I have no problem with crate training, but if you’re leaving the dog IN YOUR VEHICLE for hours at a time, there’s a problem there. That’s the kind of thing that will get you reported to animal control. If I knew someone at my office was keeping an animal in their car while they were at work, I’d report them in a heartbeat.

Thread is closed mama. ๐Ÿ™‚

I already explained that the dog was in the car for only a few hours while I work. Windows open and the car is just a few feet from the front door of the daycare where I work. Doggie can even play in the front yard of the daycare once drop-off time is over. Never bring him to work if the weather isn’t going to be nice though….but he has to be in a crate when he comes with me. I’m not abusing him by bringing him. He loves to come and he gets extra time with me if/when he comes.

Cedricsmom—-No, the dog is not in his crate all day and all night. It depends on what we are doing and when. He “goes to bed” around 10 and is up after 6 am. He goes in the crate for several hours a day while I am at work. Is out for walks twice and the whole evening and some in the morning. Thanks for responding to this thread but I feel like I have explained why I am crating at this time….am looking for some advice in that area. A lot of dogs don’t even get fed or walked regularly so I don’t feel that I am a bad owner for using a crate.

I am in the midwest. When the weather is good is when my dog comes with me to work. For our area, that is about April through October appx. Sometimes more. The weather is mild in Missouri.

Sorry, but I have to comment on that. You said your dog is in his crate during the night (10pm-6am) and while you work he is in the crate in the car. That means this dog is spending most of his life in a crate. And he is not being with you during the day, he is in a crate in the car. I do not think that this is acceptable for a dog, it is actually not acceptable for any living being. And the excuse that some dogs don’t even get fed or walked is lame, what is that supposed to mean, ‘I am abusing my dog less than other people do’ ?

Your thread reminded me of the one if people could forget their child in the car. It seems that case shows that even two people can forget about their animal for 30 hours.
Honestly, why having a dog when there is actualy no time for it?

Is that how it works? Don’t like the advice or comments, close the thread? Your dog is not with you while you are working, he sits in a crate in a car, your eight working hours (or however many hours you work). The ammount of time your dog spends in a crate (or should we say box since he cannot run in there) has nothing to do with crate training.

Drama or not. Not cool to close a thread just because you can.
