I think I’ve been duped

I had a hinky feeling about this from the beginning.

I posted something on my ISO and mentioned that I had pp for it. A user pm’d me and said she had it and asked me to make an offer. I made an offer and told her I was interested but wanted to see pics. She was a new member (about a month) and didn’t have any feedback yet. When I asked about feedback, she said she had sold a bunch of stuff and would have feedback soon. I paid a week ago. Yesterday I pm’d her for an update. She hasn’t been online since I paid and I checked her feedback again. Well, she has 1 positive review. I checked that members feedback and she has 1 pos and 1 neg. I think these two members are the same person. I read some of their posts, and really I think they are the same person. Even their user names are similar. I just filed a claim with paypal and don’t know what else to do. I’m so

    That really sucks.

    Muttaqin Crunchy Co-op issues:
    Co-op issues? Wwyd?

So.. I am trying to be very unspecific about things here!
I am in a co-op for some diapers (NB’s for the new baby) and so are many other moms. It’s a really big order, WELL into the thousands (trying to be non specific lol), and the promise time was 4-6 weeks.
It’s now been almost 14 weeks.. I feel really bad for mom’s that are about to have their babies and also for those who had all of their CDing money tied up in these diapers and they won’t even fit their babies when they get them and they have no current CD’s that fit!
So the WAHM at almost 8 weeks said she had some issues at home and they would take another 2 weeks.. well then it was another week and another week and another week…
Obviously it’s too late for a PP claim.
The communication is VERY lacking, goes 11 days or so with no update. Has mentioned drop shipping to some preggo moms but then just never emails them again. Answers some emails and not others type thing..
I know this is a co-op order and at a discounted price but they still cost money… and no one has anything to show for it yet..

The last i heard she told me she would drop ship my very pregnant friends and mines and another and get me a total later that day (total for what? I am not sure, I was assuming the shipping??). I never heard back. that was 3 days ago.

Has anyone had an issue like this? what would you do in this case?
    It’s getting really frustrating !

  4. CJ says:

Muttaqin has had issues like this for years, has she not? Just poor customer service and lack of communication from what has been posted in the past. 😦

  5. Kimbella says:

    Yep – that’s why I’m not surprised there’s issues with her co-op.

  6. amessymama says:

I can’t believe anyone would feel right running a Mutts co-op. There is a pattern of this happening. I feel bad for all those waiting.

  7. smartassmama says:

I cannot imagine how much money was lost in that – thousands of diapers!?

  8. amessymama says:

Anyone know how much of a savings you get with the Mutt co-op over retail? It can’t be enough to make taking the chance worth it.

One semi-positive note is that they will probably be able to sell them for a decent price (depending on the initial savings, of course) when they do get them and can’t use them. Almost everybody wants NB Mutts, but not everyone wants to take a chance on getting them from the source.

  9. Kimbella says:

I think it was a 30% discount over retail if the co-op was over 300 diapers. (25% off if under 300.) I think 3-4K diapers were ordered. :-O

That 30% doesn’t count in the co-op fees, etc though.

So glad I decided not to participate! I was afraid something like this would happen.

  10. DocsNemesis says:

Wow. Guess I’m glad I was too broke to get any diapers too! I’d be so mad….

  11. kitty1163 says:

That’s the CC coop right? With all the issues there I’m sure part of the issues had to do with the coop hosts.

  12. Too True says:

I don’t do CC coops anymore after an issue with one of their coop hostesses…

  13. CJ says:

So now Muttaqin is going to drop ship, even after a coop fee was paid? I understand the need for drop shipping after the ridiculous delay but I am curious if the coop fees will be refunded for those? If not, that adds up to a tidy profit.

  14. amessymama says:

    13-Yah, I doubt it.

  15. Just Peachy says:

I don’t know why ppl continue to buy from Mutts even in a co-op. The discount is piddly at best and most definitely not worth the wait. It bugs me that ppl act all surprised n shit. *GASP* wahm who has had issues with getting things done in a timely manner is having the same issues again. Seriously facepalm yourself if you are that surprised.

  16. Redhead says:

Priority International doesn’t have DC anymore? I just found this out at the PO!! :/

  17. Kimbella says:

Totally agree, Peachy! Even the ones I’m buying from fsot have issues with serging or holes starting to form in the stitching of the soaker bamboo fabric.

  18. Incognizable says:

Yeah, no surprise with the mutts, but on CC every transaction has a coop fee regardless of drop shipping.

Michelle was recently selling a bunch of other dipes on her yahoo group and she was communicating quite well, so who knows what the deal is with that.

  19. smartassmama says:

I’ve got two Mutts that I don’t even use. I’m not that enchanted with them, honestly. They do the job, but I’m pretty ‘eh’ on them.
I’d sell them but one has totally shot leg elastic. And they were used when I bought them.

  20. mommygrizzly says:

OMG I’m TOTALLY not making friends today.

  21. noisybean says:

Gasp! Mutts has bad CS? What else is new!? Why is everyone surprised? I did a coop with her about 2 years ago. It took 4 months to get our products.

  22. Redhead says:

Smartassmama- Mutts were the first “real” CD purchase I made (I don’t count Gerber PFs!) .. I bought them because they sounded soooo AWESOME. But once they got here I was like.. meh. I actually liked my Goodmama’s much better!

  23. smartassmama says:

They were the first fitteds I bought. I have never bought a Goodmama :gasp:

  24. DocsNemesis says:

23-I’ve never bought either. 😀 I tried a lot of the FOTM diapers back with my other kids-Motherease, Kissaluvs, FB, Lukes Drawers, Bummis, Bumkins, etc. I can’t remember all of them. The only ones that worked for us were Fuzzi Bunz 😦

And then with my now 4 year old I tried BG’s (1.0) and loved them so I figured I would again. Hardly! So annoyed that I got a whole stash of BG’s…they fit so weird on my dd and the velcro is already looking kinda craptastic after only a few months. I’m honestly hoping it goes out the rest of the way so I can return them and maybe try the snaps.

Ok sorry, rant out of the way. 😛

  25. Redhead says:

I actually liked my GM’s. They were absorbent and cute!
But I found I loved PF’s over them.. so that is all I have now. Not that I get to use them.. my DD is PL’d! I’m just holding onto them in case we ever have another. 🙂

  26. Just Peachy says:

I have a few gms for newb and then a ton of mutts that were gifted to me or I bought cheap. I like the nb ones because at 10 mos they still fit dd. I figured they would have more longevity then most nb dipes. But I wont buy direct from Michelle. No way no how not gonna happen. Just like I would never buy a GM direct from the site.

  27. Flat Stainley says:

We love our BGs. EXCEPT for the high maintenance microfibre. Although DH says that PUL is the work of the devil, so we’re in the process of switching to cotton trainers and wool. Yay for diaper fabric shopping and wool hoarding!

  28. audlovesm5 says:

I love our Goodmamas….my little guy has been a heavy wetter since day one. I’m not psycho about them, but those goodnights with a good wool cover are like magic at night!

  29. Flat Stainley says:

So there’s a new public outing on DS. Anyone get scammed by her?

  30. monique says:

I had something like that happen to me we traded on DS I mail mine I kept on asking about when it was mailed and I wanted my DC# I e-mailed her a bunch of times no replys I saw her posting on DS facebook page.
