Another WAHM gone bad/in over her head:

And FTR, if you bought on HC, you can leave FB on DS if you contact her on DS about the transaction…

Here is her WAHM feedback on HC: http://hyenacart.com/feedback_view.php?vidn=1428

Here is a recent JAR on her:

Name of business: Raining Baby Fluff
Name of business owner/buyer/trader(first and last): Jennel
E-mail address:smilnjen@…
eBay user ID: n/a
Date ordered: 01/15/09.
Products/services purchased: 2 One Size Fitted Diapers
Price paid: 37.75
Estimated turn around time: I contacted her on 02/05/09 inquiring about my
diapers and was told it would be another week, that is the first actual
commitment I got to a date
Actual turn around time: I still have no diapers
Was product as expected? I wouldn’t know.
If not why? Because I have never received them.
Did you contact the person about the problem(s)? Yes, I have had several
different contacts with her since. She told me some personal problems she
had/has been having and on a couple of occasions I had agreed to wait. I heard
great things about her and her product, so I was willing to be patient.
If so, how did they attempt to resolve? She did offer a refund two times but
said that if I chose to still get the diapers, they would be out soon (within a
week) so both times I said I would wait. However, my patience and understanding
have expired.
Would you do business with again? Absolutely not.
Today’s date: 04/13/09

Re: Jennel/smilnjen/Raining Baby Fluff – out of commission temporarily

Just an update – Jennel has STILL not sent me multiple packages (over 100.00 worth). She is providing limited contact (or at least she WAS but isn’t anymore) but no resolution.

I believe she’s gone the way that all too many WAHMs do. I’m very sad to say that I don’t think anybody who is expecting anything from her will get it.

    Sad sad sad.

  2. riffrafflittleman says:

that’s really sad. I liked Jennel and would never have pegged her for ripping people off 😦 I hope she’ll get this all straightened out and take a break.

  3. AshleyB says:

That’s awful!! I love all the stuff I have from her 😦 And we talked for a while…but have lost touch.

  4. givepeasachance says:

She screwed me on a trade with some wipes. I sent her an outfit, I got some one layer fleece squares with serged edges. I was told I was getting “a variety of high quality” wipes. I was pissed, but really new to DS so I was scared to voice my irritation with the unfair trade.

  5. youdontknowme says:

Wow is right. DH puts up with alot of my crap but if I asked to dedicate a section of our living room to MLP, i’d be single again.

  6. Roxanna says:

Is she the photographer that took pics of Juliette? I cant think of here screen name but I know the little girl was in SBish Magic dipe.

  7. youdontknowme says:

Eh, I kinda do. I mean it’s cute but all I can think about when seeing it is a unicorn farting rainbows. I’m no help sorry!

  8. mmspirit7 says:

9 lol thats what i thought too

  9. tweedle*deedee says:

This really sucks cause I have had at least 4 transactions with Jen and was very happy with her all around.

Was Taylor (Lil Outlaws, right?) not in a co-op with Jennel? Is it possible that there is more to this than is being told? Isn’t there always? LOL!

  10. riffrafflittleman says:

I know Lil Outlaws was a guest vendor on RBF’s HC store….But it looks like the feedback left on the store is from other people?

  11. kimbella says:

Wasn’t Taylor/lil’outlaws banned from DS for a while too? I might be thinking of someone else though.

I know Jen was supposed to be sick several months ago. It took forever for her to send me some fluff, and she never responded to my pm’s. I did eventually get my stuff from her though – it just took a while.

  12. me says:

LOL! 7, I like it, but it made me think of that as well. Too funny!

I thought Lil Outlaws had something to do with Raining Baby Fluff, too. Also, I could’ve sworn there was something about one/both? of them here a while back.
I think I’m missing something again.

  13. riffrafflittleman says:

Lil outlaw’s was banned, but I cannot remember why. She was also in that Animal Crackers congo with RBF, SweetPeaBoutique and another Jen (it was talked about back in Sept/Oct).

  14. Funneh says:

I got screwed on a trade with Jen too several months ago – she didn’t even sent part of the agreement and what she did send was not made from the fabric I had asked for/fell apart after the first two or three washes.

    So yeah. Not surprised.

  15. Messy says:

That yarn is wicked off!!! But like someone else pointed out… If you look, down in the bottom corner of the original pic, is the same color yarn as she got. Strange???

  16. Thud says:

Ah yes, the scary Animal Crackers congo of scammers and ripoff artists that lasted, what, a month?

OT~ has anyone had issues with PP and their acct (WAHMs) in the last 24 hours? I haven’t but others have and I am trying to figure something out….

  17. rainbow says:

17 – I think that the yarn is really off. Not so much the pinkish/red, but definitely the purple. In the original picture the purple is almost blue, and in the tarn she got it’s very very purple. I would put the yarn she thought she was buying on a boy, but not the yarn she received.

  18. mmspirit7 says:

see i want to start getting yarn LOL i just do’t know what kinds and things like this scare me and make me just say never mind

  19. JustPeachy says:

    http://www.hyenacart.com/southwestspectrum
    Awesome dyer right there.

  20. werd says:

21 – Trish at Candy Pants Yarns is awesome and her yarn is fab and really fairly priced. She’s on the Under the Cherry Tree Congo and sells in 4 or 6 oz sizes. I highly reccommend her! Her yarn knits up beautifully!!

  21. mmspirit7 says:

LOL I am such a newbie i don’t know how much I would need for dd and what kinds there are so many but i am going to check out those sellers i still have a knitter bookmarkered that someone else shared with me.

  22. mmspirit7 says:

Peach OMG love the yarn!!! thank you!!!

  23. JustPeachy says:

You’re welcome. I bought my first custom dyed yarn from Deb and it was absolutely amazing. Her turn around time was quick and the colorway was almost identical to what was in her gallery.

  24. mmspirit7 says:

cool I am afraid to get sucked in but I need some kind of covers for out and about and they need to be cute LOL.

  25. AshleyB says:

Taylor (Lil Outlaws) was banned for DS bashing during one of the mass bannings. No scamming issues at all with her. They were in the Animal Crackers on Parade congo as new WAHM’s who didn’t know about the other crap, and left upon finding out. Not EVERYONE on that congo was a scammer.

  26. siriusmama says:

*drool* I want this but without the shirt (not that it’s not cute, just not my style 😉 )

  28. mmspirit7 says:

i really don’t mean to knock these person but house can you build a house on porperty that you never had servied only then to find out it wasn’t yours, and how did you get everyone else miss this huge point. WAHM design theivery
I feel like I’m always asking about this and here we go again. I was thinking of making some striped longies with different types of stitches instead of just the regular knit stitch. Apparently someone does that already, but I have no idea who.

Does anyone know? And is it considering stealing from a WAHM if I use different stitches? I mean, they are just stitches…..it’s not like I’m using the crankypants design or something….I’m not copying just using a variety of stitches.

Do you think that’s considered…(I can’t htink of the term. …not copyright infringement….but…..using another WAHMs design)…..is it that?

why oh why oh why oh why if you’re a “WAHM” can’t you learn to knit jogless stripes??? ugh.

  36. mmspirit7 says:

    wow

  37. mmspirit7 says:

wow she’s sumb thinking noone would find that out. but i admit I like that style quite a bit

  38. hrm's mom says:

#33 I just saw something a couple of weeks ago about a couple in NY that remodeled an apartment (tons of money spent) to find out that they totally remodeled the wrong apartment. They own the crappy one next door which did not have the same layout or access to the rooftop. I wondered myself how the hell that happened!

  39. JustPeachy says:

You are right. A jogless stripe is not that hard to do and I myself just did a pair recently with it. If you ask me her stuff is just not up to par for selling yet. I checked out her blog and I see many many mistakes and on her cart her duplicate stitches are twisted.

  40. mmspirit7 says:

wow really you would think people check these things out first. glad i had great teachers. I remember my dad buying 74 acres of land and finding out the town road was on the land (it was an old one lane road) before he bought it. he worked it out with the town that he didn’t care. I remember my uncle buying land and walking the land with the surverier (sp) and make sure he knew it was his. same with my dad when he bought his second home (dad and uncle are doing well, dad works for boweing) in AZ before it was built he walked the lot and made sure it was the right one.

I just don’t see how everyone can fuck up like that the crew doing the work they just go were told but people behind permits and deeds you would think they new different.

  41. DSDM2 says:

I watched that story on TV last night. The fuck up was the agents. They put the for sale sign on the wrong property. And if there was nothing else there, and all corners were marked, how would you know that the plot number didn’t match? I live in the country, and the permits and such are not the same as in the city. You don’t need as many permits or things… I can totally understand how it happens.

True story, about 9 years ago, my husband and I were sued by the county for not paying taxes on our home. The house was sold (without us knowing) in an auction. We LIVED in the house, had lived in it for years, payed our taxes with our mortgage, and when we called, the Sheriff’s office (who takes the taxes in our county) told us that “It (the auction notice) was in the newspaper, it isn’t your house anymore”.

Now, we had done nothing wrong. The bank gave us the mortgage on the plot next door, and no one knew that there were 2 sets of taxes and mortgages on that house and plot. The sheriff’s office had cashed the checks, so it was being paid, but it was a HUGE SNAFU.

So, I totally get how that can happen. Totally.

  42. mmspirit7 says:

see that is why in the country it’s important to servay you land before you buy it. that’s what my fam did.

sorry about what happened to you. I just have a hard time feeling sory for them

  43. 2dogs says:

#46 holy crap. How on earth do they explain that to the people that think they just bought your house?

  44. Aj says:

Those longies are beyond awful, no way should people be paying money for them. I don’t think silly stripes has any need to worry. And also, does it look to anyone else like she knit those on straight needles and then stitched up the front?

  45. theinvisible says:

    50
and it looks like everyone is watching. 100+ customers online.

  46. JustAMama says:

Lil’ Outlaws was guest vendor on the RBF HC store. They were both in the ACOP congo but both left when they found out what the other Jen was up to.
They were really close friends and always promoted each other everywhere, and for good reason. They both have awesome stuff.
But then Lil’ Outlaws sent RBF some GMs in exchange for some of her OS fitteds. She never sent them and kept being “too busy” but Lil’ Outlaws was patient. Then there was a swap on DS and RBF was to send LO 40.00 in OS fitteds. She never sent those either.
Lil’ Outlaws wasn’t TOO upset because RBF had been making payments toward custom wooden letters (which hadn’t been started yet, since they weren’t paid in full) and the payments made were almost what LO was owed in diapers from RBF. She then had an agreement with RBF that they would call it even. However RBF had TONS of fabric and diaper cuts, embroidered pieces, etc. that LO had sent directly to her (to be made into said missing diapers) and asked Jennel to send them to her.
LO offered to send PP for a shipping label. RBF refused and said she’d pay for it herself “on payday” which was about a month ago.
No contact since then. Multiple mamas contacting Jacklen from Lil’ Outlaws re: their orders from Jennel, asking if she would be able to reach Jennel for them.
No contact via email, phone, PM, MySpace, or text.

Last scammed person to contact LO was a mama on DS who told her that she ordered from Jennel as recently as March, after the scamming was well underway. Hard to believe she was still taking orders.

    😦
It’s a shame, really. Her diapers are great. (or were.)

  47. JustAMama says:

Just realized that last part ran together.

They agreed to “call it even” with the requirement that RBF sent LO all of the fabric and diaper cuts that belonged to her, immediately, so that another WAHM could make them into diapers for her. Her son is almost PL’d and she’s really upset that those cute embroidered cuts, etc. will never be on his bum because Jennel was dragging behind and scamming people.

Jennel agreed to the stipulation of sending the fabric right away, but has not done it. Jacklen is highly aggravated and says she’s about to file JAR and iTrader.

  48. AshleyB says:

That’s awful! I didnt know Jennel did that to Jackie. They were such good friends. I guess I’m glad then that the Outlaw Rain congo fell through!!

  49. youdontknowme says:

I don’t understand the whole house on the wrong land thing either. When we bought a house in Texas we had to have a survey of the land BEFORE the sale went through. However…if you could get the survey from the previous owners and it wasn’t too outdated then you could use that. But even IF you got the previous survey i’m not quite sure how you can mix that up.

  50. AshleyB says:

The house!! I just bought mine, and the entire property is clearly fenced in and I STILL had to have a survey done, and that wasn’t for the mortgage. The title company would NOT draw up the title without a survey saying EXACTLY what plot of land was mine.

  60. JustAMama says:

Yeah Jacklen is pretty upset about it. She said earlier that she finally gave up and left negative FB on DS for Jennel. She didn’t want to but she found out that Jennel is still selling and scamming and couldn’t let someone else get taken. :/ What a shitty situation, huh?

  61. cdc3030 says:

Ibreastfeed.com uses some alt text for the clues, but my browser doesnt show them. I figured this out after pulling up the page source and digging through that. Redicuuulllliuuuus.

You DONT have to totally tell me where they are (unless you insist) but I need some flipping help or I will yell at my husband some more.
Thank you. must go drink a glass of milk now.

  62. uhhuhwhut says:

Our city accidentally built a new city well a few feet onto some neighboring property. Talk about a mess! It turns out the person who did the land survey did it wrong, but is now retired and can’t be held liable. Oddly enough the land is only about20 feet square and locked inside city land. The lady who owned it inherited it after the fact and is raking the city across the coals over it.

So crazy stuff like that does happen. Also, when my parents bought the property for the new house, the neighbors had to move their pasture fence about 5 feet in. The fence had been there for 20 years and no one noticed. Land surveying is definitely a must before purchasing a new property. Kind of like inspections. I always here the crazy stories of people finding out the house they just bought is crap because they didn’t have an inspection done.

  63. Yup says:

Have we already played who’s the WAHM on this one?

  64. Bloggitybloggity says:

69- I’m so very curious, as well.

  65. screenname says:

That’s a tough one. She’s the one holding the virtual baby shower for kristinc, so those could be from anyone.

  66. theinvisible says:

She’s also a snickety beyotch so I really just think its funny. Two of the responses allude to the fact that there’s no pleasing her anyway.

  67. rainbow says:

69 – Those are Bumstoppers, from what I can gather. If I’m not mistaken, they sell for right around $12? What I’m most curious about in that thread is the OP is asking whether she should pay for them, Leading me to believe that no money has exchanged hands at all at this point, and she’s already had the WAHM redo them once? Doesn’t that seem like asking for a lot and not giving anything in return?

  68. rainbow says:

Yikes, sorry about that crazy run-on sentence!

  69. JustPeachy says:

They are very obviously not the same sizing and while I respect that handmade means that they will not be the exact same, you shouldnt be able to tell from pics alone they are not the same size kwim?

  70. theinvisible says:

The WAHM has some sizing issues. That happens with a $12 custom diaper (assuming that’s the case). Ask for a discount and call it even. I guess I can’t comment objectively because I can’t stand the OP but that’s probably how I’d handle it.

  71. Aj says:

This lady’s all kinds of crazy:
    http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=742724&page=2
Did she kill her bil or did her mom, I can’t understand her rant, either way it’s a little unbalanced. Wow.

  72. Yup says:

If you read her hc, there is a disclaimer about some diapers being made with lastin and had looser legs. So it’s possible the OP got diapers, complained they were too big and exchanged them for ones made w/ different elastic. And perhaps the WAHM grabbed one of the lastin ones for the replacements?

  73. mmspirit7 says:

i can understand why the other mama told her to leave her alone

  74. The ORIGINAL Just Me says:

#69 Ugh the OP is such a twat! If you don’t like them, don’t pay for them! It’s that simple. And are those diapers supposed to be for Kristin? If so, why isn’t Kristin posting instead of I’mABitch?

  75. rainbow says:

From what I’m gathering on the thread, it seems that the OP doesn’t even have the diapers in her possession, that they’re still with the WAHM, and that those were photos that the WAHM took. I agree that there are sizing differences, but I’m thinking that the OP can’t possibly know what extent the sizes are off if she doesn’t even have them in front of her.

Notice that the OP hasn’t provided and pics with the diapers laid out like a few people have suggested – because she doesn’t have them and hasn’t actually paid for them.

I’m with you #81 – if you don’t like them, don’t pay them them!

  76. kimbella says:

77 – I read it as her dad killed her bil, and her mom blamed her because she brought the dad to where her bil was.

Any way you read it, it’s messed up! 😦

  77. Yup says:

#38, you should post the rest of the thread. Another good drama of Crystal lying through her teeth and then sticking her own foot in her mouth.

  78. hrm's mom says:

#83 I took it the other way the dad killed the BIL, but again anyway you take it, it is messed up! It sounds like she has issues and to say that your therapist likes you is a little off, I mean don’t they have to act like they like you what with the money you are paying them and all?

  79. theinvisible says:

I kind of feel sorry for her and that doesn’t happen very often. That is some kind of speshul post and I’m not touching that one.

  80. naturalmamadot says:

ugh ya know what, I have to say that on another forum janeen flipped out on me over my siggy which wasnt even inappropriate, Ive noticed that she seems VERY socially incompatible like she is always over emotional/bitchy/SOMETHING its ridiculous.

I had recently joined this place when she did it too and ever since then I cant stand seeing her post because overly sensitive “woe is me everyone baby me and make everything one big happy fluffy rainbow place” drive me up a fucking wall.

I wouldnt wish any family members dying on anyone but to the person that said she sounds unstable? That is exactly how I would peg her, unstable and overly sensitive wanting everyone to make the world the special janeen place lol.

  86. kimbella says:

I feel sorry for the woolieboolie lady. 😦 She reminds me of my Granny. An excellent crocheter, just not someone who should be crochetting longies!

My Granny crocheted this MASSIVE, queen-size “Last Supper” blanket last summer, and then she donated it to her church’s picnic to be raffled off. It was beautiful and flawless and she took hours and hours of time to make it. BUT, if she tried to make longies, I bet they’d look just like the woolieboolie lady’s. Except maybe not with the odd faces!

  87. mmspirit7 says:

  92. haha says:

the “allusion” ones? LMAO. Pun intended? Like she was Alluding that they are great longies when they really aren’t?

    http://hyenacart.com/KooshieKeister/index.php
You would think if she was going to try charging $19.50 for them she would at least be able to serge that front curve properly and hide her snaps.

  95. mmspirit7 says:

101 man those look bad! I wouldn’t know they were a copy with an added snaps but they just look wrong

  96. eeek says:

Snaps look wonky on the BSRB pattern rip-off diapers.

And lord I’m tired of HCs that all look like a template. This one’s better than all the gingham ones, but it’s still lame. I know I’m picky but cart & pictures are so important…..

Granny woolies makes me sad, so much work for such bits of stuff. I wish she’d get over the idea of using other people’s ideas, and just get some nice yarn. Make longies, with nice yarn. Don’t put weird faces on there, don’t try to get artistic, just use your actual talent in crocheting to make things. I bet she could make cool stuff, if she just understood.

I always expect to see her stuff displayed on a couch covered in old lady plastic.

97 – The WAHM in question was definitely Becky of Bumstoppers. I know someone who placed a newborn order with her and was very happy with the diapers. She also has a ton of cool fabrics available, and does both front and side snapping diapers. I say go for it!

  98. mmspirit7 says:

really why say this you can’t be bothered to post pics I can’t be bothered to shop

“I just want to gauge interest in these… I have a whole bunch of EUC goodmamas for sale… I don’t really feel like taking pictures of them all right now, but if you are interested in something, pm me and I will take one of that item for you Here is what I have:”

Snaps look wonky on the BSRB pattern rip-off diapers.

And lord I’m tired of HCs that all look like a template. This one’s better than all the gingham ones, but it’s still lame. I know I’m picky but cart & pictures are so important…..

Totally true! I didn’t want to put a shop on HC because I was afraid that I’d have to be stuck with some corny template that did not fit my stuff AT ALL. I finally went for it and found that it looks better if you just don’t add all that crap to begin with.

And just a tiny rant from me-what’s up with the standard cart? I HATE them and have been turned away from other people’s carts b/c they us standard instead of multi. I want your cart to look professional and not in a giant list like on Spot’s Corner. Geez people, put your stuff in categories! *end rant*

  101. siriusmama says:

    103
Maybe she thought if she “GMed” the snaps they would be even MORE popular lol.

  102. eeek says:

The standard thing is kind of old school. Years ago, the only reason to use multi was if you didn’t qualify for standard, like if your stuff wasn’t handmade. There actually used to be a way to sort out all the multi carts so you didn’t have to look at them.

Then Karen improved multi-carts until they were better than standards in almost every way, but a lot of people still liked the layout they were used to & didn’t like clicking through the layers of the categories. I kind of like the standard layout myself, unless someone has like 50 things in which case it gets ridiculous.

  103. naturalmamadot says:

ditto 108 I dont like the multi carts unless it really really is needed I just dont look through all the layers, too much of a pita for me because there are so many carts I need to be able to see what youre main thing is right away

  104. Megan says:

106- Funny you should say that. I started with all my items in categories on my HC. Then, I had several WAHMs helping me out with layout, photos, opinions, etc, to revamp my page, and the overwhelming majority was that people preferred the standard layout.
Aaaah, to each his own, I suppose. 🙂

  106. GMLovah! #1 Fan says:

I HATE the multi cart layout. I want to see everything available in just one view. I don’t like having to click through a bunch of categories. I always hit “view all” or whateverthehell it is. I am far too lazy to be clicking through categories. Just show me all the crap in one shot and call it a day.

  107. hrm's mom says:

with the woolieboolie lady what is up with the “golden bear/puppy” one, even she cannot figure out what it is!!!

105- I really do not understand why people put “looking for interest” threads out there. I am never really sure what they are wanting, I mean do they want to sell their stuff or not?

  108. mmspirit7 says:

I have when there is a ton of sold out I have to go through to find what I am looking for

  109. Megan says:

LOL, 113, christians can like the penis, too. 😛

112- don’t get it. There must be more to her message than I’m getting.

114- That was pretty much the message I got when I was reformatting my page.

  110. JustPeachy says:

Meg needs to get over this passive aggressive posting bullshit. Fucking pot stirrer.

  111. mmspirit7 says:

    /oh I wasn’t saying that the couldn’t it’s just I know a few that would be upset.

  112. Laura says:

What the heck did I miss on the owl thread?

  113. JustPeachy says:

Nothing much just someone decides to lurk on the wool thread and take something that was said there a bit far and stir the pot.

  114. mdmr says:

Oh Meg’s favorite past times. Pot stirring and making people feel like shit. Bitch.

  115. screenname says:

There is drama surrounding a pocket with an owl on it? I’d want one too. It’s very cute!

  116. Hawk says:

118- why is it passive aggressive? I am confused. I thought that she had longies like that ?

  117. DSDM2 says:

I’m missing the drama… anyone care to clue me in?

  118. Laura says:

looks like there’s alot more to the owl thread that just a cute owl.

Peach, I read the wool thread and saw their was drama but I’m not making the “owl” connection. Want to share with the rest of the class? 🙂

  119. Aj says:

Why do I always miss the *good* drama, damn ANTM!!! What is up with the owl pockets?

  122. Shabbychic says:

Peach, I never saw the wool thread. Well, now I have. I only got linked to a public blog and the rest is history.

  123. Megan says:

127- LOL! DH even watched it with me tonight, so I was able to have it on AND sit my butt right here. 😀

  124. Shabbychic says:

Well Peach, I knew we had a few things in common. Pot, kettle. Yeah, that thing.

  125. Aj says:

I’m mad, I really wanted Allison to win!

  126. Aj says:

So what the drama? Oh, and have you sold all your wool yet Meg?

  127. Megan says:

YES! Dh and I did, too.

  128. Shabbychic says:

    Peach, tell us the drama.

    No, not all. Just some.

  129. theinvisible says:

How are you going to come to the DoDS and tease drama whores but not put out? What kind of shit is that? Oh, and I think Shabbychic is calling you out.

  130. Aj says:

Teyona’s beautiful and all, but Allison was awesome… I like that she was kinda weird (oh, and I also like that I’m not the only person who watches that show)!

Do you read Rich’s blog on ANTM?

  135. Shabbychic says:

    Thanks AJ, PM’d you back!

  136. Hmmmmm says:

Shabby, what’s this Drama about? I thought there was a new pattern posted on how to make owl pockets…what’s the deal?

  137. Hawk says:

Forget it, 144. You’ll get better answers from the lost finale then if you stick around here. No one seems to be talkin’.

  138. DSDM2 says:

ok, the ranting/unstable chick is just that… I just looked at her blogs and read up on her posts. She just seems like a negative person in general. She also seems suicidal (as per what she wrote about the BIL and gun). But her blogs are all negative. Even her “positive” blogs are full of negativity.

It also seems like she is making her life harder and such b/c she is going to home school, and she keeps saying her lifestyle is so incompatable, blah blah blah. It looks like a few posters have tried to honest to her without being too harsh. Maybe she can get help, I’m almost afraid to blog on her. (As per her mental stability).

  139. Hmmmmm says:

I’ll have to try some other sources, LOL! I’m only wanting to know because I bought a pair of owl shorties recently.

  140. try me, i'm new! says:

no one likes a drama tease.

  141. theinvisible says:

    146
I wouldn’t if I were you. There’s DS crazy and then there is real crazy and I think she may be the real thing. That could get ugly.

  142. Laura says:

Meg, link us to the public blog you’re talking about.

  143. StacEy says:

I just rambled like an ass on your thread Meg… Hey, she posts on the woolly wonder forum. I shared the owl pattern over there a while ago.

  144. DSDM2 says:

149, yeah. It is one thing to poke at a crazy scammer, another to really go after someone with problems.

  145. Molly says:

I am SO not in the drama loop but I think I have the owl drama figured out…correct me if I’m wro

One mama makes woolies with an “owl pocket” and it is her “special” thing.

She mentions in a thread that she posted her pattern for the owlies and a pic of her son wearing them and now feels she shouldn’t have.

This is because another WAHM is now selling/distributing the owl pattern as her own via Ravelry. Mama is upset and feels very hurt because her pattern page shows she was making them far prior to the second mama posting the pattern.

Then a thread appears with a pic of owl pocket woolies that appears passive aggressive because it seems to be saying that Mama A is also the pot calling the kettle black because she is not the first to make owl pocket woolies.

  146. rainbow says:

153 – that’s what I understand of the situation too, although I have to admit I’m not sure I understand all the subtleties of Meg’s post. There are all kinds of owl cable patterns all over Ravelry, though, so it’s not like it’s a new idea. I think that’s why I don’t “get” the drama.

  147. StacEy says:

so, so strange…the owl drama. Here’s my thread on the forum Mandy frequents: http://www.woolywonder.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17081

here’s the pattern (I actually didn’t share it on the forum, it was in an PM to a friend who said she wanted to knit it into longies).

The pattern is worked from the feet of the owl up, so you’ll probably have to reverse this pattern (for the longies knit top down). For reference, round 3 is the feet, round 11 is the neck, rounds 13 and 14 are the eyes, and round 17 is the top of the owl’s head. I think if I did the hat over again I would lead in and end with a purl row to frame the owls. Anyway, here’s the pattern

    Pattern notes:
C4B – Sl 2 sts onto cable needle. Hold to back of work, k the next 2 sts, then k the 2 sts from the cable needle.
C4F – Sl 2 sts onto cable needle. Hold to front of work, k the next 2 sts, then k the 2 sts from the cable needle.

    rounds 1 & 2: p3, k8
    round 3: p3, C4B, C4F
    rounds 4-10: p3, k8
    round 11: p3, C4B, C4F
    round 12: p3, k8
    round 13: p3, k1, p2, k2, p2, k1
    round 14: p3, k1, p2, k2, p2, k1
    rounds 15 & 16: p3, k8
    round 16: p3, k8
    round 17: p3, C4B, C4F
    round 18: p3, k8

But all this is beside the point…..that pattern has been around for ages, and has been knit into many, many things. I actually have a completed pocket that I knit 2 years ago that never made it onto ds’ shorts. Share the pattern and move on.

  148. StacEy says:

    156: best laugh all day.

  149. Shabbychic says:

Well see here’s the thing really. No one ever saw bo bottoms owl, at least no one in question. And bo bottoms wahm came out guns blazing slandering pam who was never contacted and has no idea who bo bottoms is. The cargo owl pockets were posted on PAMS OWN FORUMS. Pam is like the last person anyone would slander. One of the first Wahms there ever was. I think bo bottoms had no idea who she was defaming. Not good. Not good.

  150. Shabbychic says:

    Oh and Stacey, YOU ROCK.

  151. mmspirit7 says:

156 hey can I be a wahm and just stick some stickers on a card not even nicely and charge three bucks

  154. mmspirit7 says:

LOL 3.00 to mail me a card so i can turn around and mail it out LOL….I think I should look in the wahm thing lol

  155. StacEy says:

glad I could be of service 😉

  156. mmspirit7 says:

wow I wonder does she have a baby sweat shop didn’t think of the kids doing it how sad 😀

  157. StacEy says:

also, I think Pam is one of the nicest and most professional wahms out there. She made a soaker for dd1 and I had to save it for baby dolls and teddy bears because I couldn’t sell it.

  158. Nosey Neighbour says:

What does Mandy (Almo0nd) have to do with it? I am lost 😦

  159. Hmmmmm says:

    Yeah that to 168!

  160. Shabbychic says:

Mandy made owl cargo pocket pants and posted them months back on WW. Oh, and on DS in Craft show and tell.

  161. Messy says:

But how is Meg being passive aggressive? I don’t get it…

  162. Hmmmmm says:

Meg started a thread on DS that wasn’t too nice and imo, was to create drama (sorry Meg, but why else would you have done it, LOL!). We need to let these two mamas (who I’m sure are both really sweet grown ass women) work it out!

  163. mmspirit7 says:

all I know is i like the owl knit and might have to order me some…or learn to knit…hmm i will buy them.

  164. trollin4friends says:

mandy has to do with it just cause 1) she posted an owl pocket pant on pam’s forums, MONTHS ago. probably way before psycho blogger-“what did i do to you” chick, and if mandy can handle pam with an owl pattern, surely so should crazy blog lady pam most likely has no freaking clue about.

  165. StacEy says:

    wait, isn’t psycho blogger Mandy?

  166. trollin4friends says:

no no no, psycho blogger is some nobody named amiee. or some such spelling

  167. Shabbychic says:

Well Meg is passive agressive because Meg has no other choice because if she hauls off on the wool thread, everyone cries and Meg gets smacked.

  168. trollin4friends says:

i guess it could be said that, psycho was bitching about pam, meg sees that, thinks “psycho is stupid, awesome knitter mandy did that months ago and posted on pams board, and shes not having a cow” so meg posts saying, “hey mandy, your pants are cool” (passive aggressive bit being that psycho lady should get a grip, lots of people do owls on pants, before her)

and meg is right, and psycho needs to check herself.

  169. Hmmmmm says:

But why stick your nose in it, kwim? Aimee made a mistake perhaps, she maybe jumped the gun on claiming the idea as her own. What else is there to say about it, if were are not Aimee or Pamela. It’s between them, not us.

  170. mmspirit7 says:

177…I thought you were meg….I am so lost someone hand me the drama map please

  171. theinvisible says:

Is she LadyBenz or something on DS? Did I see that in her blog?

  172. trollin4friends says:

welcome to the internet bb, if you cant hack it, get out of the proverbial kitchen. /shrug

  173. StacEy says:

176: got it! I was confused.

  174. trollin4friends says:

is who ladybenz? ladybenz is psycho blogger, who is not mandy (alm0nd)

and 180 is meg, i think shes being cheeky

  175. trollin4friends says:

and who am i? thats one secret ill never tell….

    gossip girl

haha, i make myself laugh, sorry

  176. theinvisible says:

Yeah, psychoblogger is LadyBenz. Unclear on the SN not the source.

  177. mmspirit7 says:

ahh ok so I was following right. sigh I need to stop being on more than one website at a time

  178. JustPeachy says:

I call bullshit Meg. Why the hell would you bring it up now coincidentally when Aimee was upset about the owl pockets. No instead of letting it go you had to go and be a bitch and throw it out in the open.
I will let everyone know this now. Whatever is said in the wool thread be it good or bad should be taken with a grain of salt. We all say things we regret or let our emotions get the best of us. This is what happened with the owl pocket thing and Meg just couldn’t let it go and decided to stir the pot and cause drama just because she can.

  179. Shabbychic says:

You call bullshit? What’s to call? Bo bottoms called it out in the open herself on her blog. Pam was alerted to it. And see, Pam and I go way back so I’m there for her. Call it whatever you want. Bo bottoms should have held onto her fire and had a civil discussion with Pam about it, but instead chose to make her own drama with a story that wasn’t even true, which she would have known if she had handled it properly. So, she opened it up and it then became a free for all. After the “what did you do for me Pamela Grossman”, she kind of set her own fall up.

  180. theinvisible says:

    189
I think public opinion would sway that way as well. I am a disinterested party so believe me when I tell you that the blog is pretty dang dramatic. She should just take that down before everyone sees it. Really.

  181. JustPeachy says:

Bullshit Meg again! You never even come on the damn thread and you are lurking pulling shit like this which makes me wonder if you aren’t the reason that everyone is leaving nowadays. Seems like alot of what is said in the wool thread ends up being posting in EF and blown completely out of proportion.
Im trying my hardest not to sound like an elitist bitch but I have come to know these women very well over the past few months and I am very sad that because a few of you cant just let shit go and let ppl blow of steam that the thread has dwindled significantly.
For one Aimee never said a bad word about Pam. She said she was upset that it was posted and thats on her. Who the hell are you to say she can’t be upset Meg huh? Just because you seem to think you are the be all and end all in the woolie world doesn’t mean you are.
And furthermore your stupid interest thread and your response to the mama who said something about pricing was asenine. It was an innocent remark and you just had to get a bug up your ass about it.
Now I see why people befriend you in hopes of getting your stuff because otherwise they wouldnt have shit to do with you.

  182. Shabbychic says:

But see, here’s the thing. She attacked PAM. That’s the really amusing part. So all the really old time WAHMS. You know, the ones that have been around since way before bo bottoms ever had kids, they find this ever so amusing. And the consensus around there is that bo bottoms really had no clue whatsoever who she was going after.

  183. JustPeachy says:

Where did she attack Pam? And if she did was it any of your business to get involved? No and you made it your business to get involved and now Im calling you on it.
FWIW Aimee posted her owls back in February. Mandy posted hers in March. Im looking for threads now but Ill return.

  184. Shabbychic says:

Oh peach, settle down. I never even saw your daily wool thread until after I was alerted to the blog post by someone who well lets just say YOU would not be happy told me.

And I’m not the b all and end all in the woolie world. That would be the photography world.

My stupid wool interest thread made me 600 quick bucks this evening. Guess it wasnt so stupid.

And your last point, people might befriend me, but I dont befriend them, so no worries, I just sell to whoever paypals to me.

It’s ok, Peach, really. Don’t bother with me. You have said yourself, I am just not worth it. I wonder then why you get yourself all in a snit over me all the time. It’s just so much fun.

  185. Hmmmmm says:

    “stupid interest thread”? huh?

  186. JustPeachy says:

I dont get myself in a snit about you at all Meg. I just can’t when people call wahms out over stuff casually mentioned in the thread.
Don’t worry I won’t be losing sleep over this 🙂

  187. JustPeachy says:

Eh I had to check the damn thing out since it was a linkon the blog. Im curious.

  188. Shabbychic says:

Me neither Peach 🙂 Have a good night. I have to edit now.

  189. Hmmmmm says:

Well Meg, what do have to say to 196…that’s gonna be hard! Ouch.

  190. StacEy says:

Just Peachy, did you read the blog entry? She said:

“Pamela … published my design as her own as a free Ravelry pattern, then advertised it in the forums on Hyenacart.com, where I have my cloth diapering store, Beaux Bottoms”

    Nice. Then…

“I’m upset about this because while imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, *flat out plagiarism and claiming someone else’s work as your own* is shady. And for a well known WAHM to do this to a lesser-known WAHM is just plain mean”

okay, crazy! She goes on to say:

“What bothers me specifically is not being given credit for my work.”

WHAT WORK??? She admits she didn’t invent owl cables, and she’s deluded herself into thinking she’s the first to put all those ideas together as if nobody else would have taken that leap. Owls were ridiculously popular a few years ago in the diapering world and I saw them everywhere. It was a natural progression.

Her whole attitude is just arrogant. The fact that she has made up her mind that Pam did this to hurt her is so, SO weird. How much more arrogant can you get? Sure Aimee, Pam saw your huge success with the owl pockets and couldn’t stand it, so she offered the pattern for FREE for anybody who wants to knit their own. She sure got you! Like any beginner knitter couldn’t figure out how to do that?

  191. JustPeachy says:

Its a marketing ploy to get her name back out there. Duh have you been under a rock lately? I know that Aimee didn’t invent owl cables but she has shared her pattern on the public forum which she admits she regrets doing now. I dont know if they are exactly the same because obviously Aimee isn’t going to publish hers for fear of her being accused of copying Pam. And of course everyone will believe Pam because she has been around for quite some time while Aimee is fairly new to the scene.

  192. Madre says:

“Just because you seem to think you are the be all and end all in the woolie world doesn’t mean you are.”

This statement shows how pointless this argument is.

  193. Hmmmmm says:

How Aimee handled it is one thing, but facts are facts and it looks like Aimee did put Owls on shorties first, based on the dates on the postings. And it’s not about putting two and two together, if Aimee was going to be all pOed about someone doing the same she wouldn’t have posted the pattern or pics on DS. I think she got upset because someone much more established than her kinda stole her thunder. And the free pattern hurt her business because it made it OK for someone to ask another knitter to put owls on their YYMN. Look at Silly Stripes. Monica didn’t invent different stitches or stripes and then putting them together, but no one dare copy her and sell their own Silly Stripe longies, kwim?

  194. trollin4friends says:

seriously, seriously. Pam did not copy that owl pattern off DS. youve got to be kidding. and then sit on it for 3 months, and then put it out as a marketing ploy.

you and aimee have got to be out of your damn minds.

  195. trollin4friends says:

if no one hears the thunder… does it exist?

you really think Pam followed bo bottoms plans? i guarantee you she had no idea of the thunder she might be stealing. which by the way is totally ridiculous. an owl cable does not thunder make.

  196. StacEy says:

Peaches, you and Aimee must be smokin’ the same bad weed. Paranoianoid much? Have I been under a rock? No, you? Peachy, let me share a little tale with you….

Almost 2 years ago I posted an owl cable hat on a diapering-wool forum. Somebody who saw that hat PM’d me and asked if she could have the pattern because a customer of hers saw that hat and wanted a pair of longies with the owl cable incorporated in it. I gladly shared the pattern (as quoted directly from that email above). The person who pm’d me was Lindsay of Ky Baby Knits. You know her? She’s the wahm that helped Pam re-do and photograph her pattern. You know, that pattern that includes lots of neat embellishment ideas…like pockets! The very same pattern that wahms continue to knit from and sell items from and never give credit. Where was I?

Okay, since you’re high on the paranoia-inducing-doobie, maybe, just maybe you can imagine a world where Pam and Lindsay put their creative minds together and come up with this pocket pattern. Or maybe since Pamela has been thinking about longies and soakers for many years (7?) and has seen all the trends come and go she finally put pen to paper and worked out this pattern all on her own.

I know I had the same fucking idea a few years ago…and I’m not stupid enough to believe that I’m so ultra creative and unique that I was the very first person to think it up.

  197. Hmmmmm says:

Yea, I’m not sayin’ it’s not possible or even probable that the whole thing was just coincidental. Just saying how I think Aimee felt, be it justified or not…

  198. StacEy says:

ah shit…I made a typo. Paranoid, I can spell paranoid.

  199. trollin4friends says:

paranoianoid is win. own that! 😛

  200. StacEy says:

208: I can’t even begin to wrap my mind around that whole thought process. The whole “you copied me, wah!” thing boggles my mind. I can’t even pretend to be in Aimee’s shoes and see this from her perspective…its just so outside of what I think is a normal, balanced response.

210: You makin’ me wake the baby. So funny.

  201. Hmmmmm says:

Is it possible Pam saw the threads and posts by Aimee on DS and it jogged her memory to get her free pattern out, totally not thinking it would hurt Aimee’s feelings? ‘Cus it is kinda coincidental, kwim? I think Aimee and Pam just need to talk it out and then the hurt feelings can be put to rest. It doesn’t sound like Pam meant any harm.

  202. JustPeachy says:

I am not paranoid at all but thanks for your concern.
Nice that Pamela can send her drones in to defend herself rather then come out and talk to Aimee herself.

  203. JustPeachy says:

#212 I could believe that. I dont for one second believe that Aimee was the first one to do it. But I do think the whole thing was spurred on with Mandy’s owl thingy which was inspired by Aimee’s owl pants. However Meg had to turn it into another thread like the thread about copying icord embellishments which is what got me riled up.

  204. Hmmmmm says:

Peachy, Meg clearly enjoys DRAMA, lol! So not nice though.

  205. StacEy says:

Peach, you’re killing me with your constant paranoia. I haven’t communicated with Pam in many months. Drones? Ha, that’s good. Sure, you’re not paranoid at all. Also, I never said I was concerned. I find your kind of crazy entertaining 🙂

  206. trollin4friends says:

funny I’m a pam drone. for one, i am not even a member at wwforums, i have been watching and laughing at the diaper and wool world for over 5 years and in all reality, pam and the wooly wonder empire kinda boggles the mind a bit. 50 bucks to follow a pattern on her message board and call it a class? whatevs-

but, i still think aimee is totally and completely in the wrong here. completely, and it doesnt take a pam drone to feel that way.

i doubt pam gives a flying flip or even knows of this stupidity, much less validate it with a response.

  207. Hmmmmm says:

The issue isn’t whether or not Aimee is in the wrong, really. It’s how Aimee is being treated. I don’t feel she deserved the thread Meg started, esp. since Meg was wrong about the dates. Now Aimee’s blog, I imagine that was put together at a low point…we’ve all had those.

  208. trollin4friends says:

ok ill give you that, however she should take that blog down, if someone googles pamela grossman and gets that blog… well i just dont think that could be very good for aimee either, honestly.

but thats just advice from some asshole, me

  209. trollin4friends says:

and speaking of that, someone should edit my last post here, remove the last name or add some *** or something. my bad

  210. DramaBore says:

I hate how Meg and her WAHM friends can do no wrong. Fucking elitists.

Should Ladybenz have posted that on her blog? No. But the fact is, she has established those embellished pockets as her niche on HC, and she did post them before that Mandy did on WW and before Pamela posted the pattern.

The owl itself has been around forever – it’s all over Ravelry. But Ladybenz has been doing them for a while now.

Meg, you can support your old, over-charging WAHMs all you want, but I sure won’t, because you all seem to be acting like teenagers, doing business with friends only and ignoring those of us that haven’t been around as long as you.

  211. Hmmmmm says:

Yea, the blog is an issue ;)! I just saw that for the first time today. I imagine she’ll take it down, she doesn’t strike me as the type to want to bring more drama on herself, so I don’t think it will be up for long. Looks she just had to get it out there and you can’t do that on DS, lest your hand get slapped.

  212. trollin4friends says:

    221. meg may be a bitch, but that she supports pam in this has nothing to do with pam, what so ever. your logic is very flawed. there is a very very high chance pam had no freakin idea about bo bottoms AT ALL. she does not travel in those circles. meg being a bitch about it is another matter entirely.

youd really boycott someone because meg supported them and was a bitch about it, which is completely out of their control, and the fact they are NOT in the wrong with publishing a free pattern with the line suggesting “throw this owl on washcloths, pockets, whatever”

i dont see how pam can be at fault in this when she did not even no about the thunder she supposedly messed up.

hate on meg for being a bitch, fine, hate on some old school out of the DS drama mongering stupidity over pant pockets WAHM even when she did nothing wrong and youre whacked.

  213. trollin4friends says:

yay typos. put a “?” after was a bitch about it? and spell no in the third paragraph as “know”

  214. Hmmmmm says:

    OCD much trollin’? 😛

  215. DramaBore says:

223 – I should clarify, I wasn’t referring to Pam. I’m sure Pam likely didn’t know about Ladybenz at all, and I have had the pleasure of working with her in the past and she has been more than pleasant.

That said, other WAHMs that Meg has brought up drama with other WAHM friends of hers in the past, and those WAHMs represented themselves poorly and for that reason they will not get my business.

I just find it interesting that Meg seems to have no qualms about calling out lesser known WAHMs, since she is SO SUPPORTIVE of the WAHM community. Or is that just for her personal friends, that do her favours all the time?

There seems to be a few people over on DS that get special treatment – not having to wait for customs, etc….and then they just go and sell everything off right away anyway. Way to show your WAHMs you appreciate their work.

  216. DramaBore says:

Grrr, it’s late, and I can’t write. Sorry for the messed up second paragraph! And I’m OCD, too, LOL.

  217. Hmmmmm says:

I wonder what these WAHMs are getting from Meg in return? Why just give her special treatment? Esp. since she can get pretty ugly. I’d be afraid of her, maybe that’s it, lol!

  218. Hmmmmm says:

I don’t even notice typos at this hour, so no worries!

  219. screenname says:

Is it really fair to call it a “niche in the WAHM world” if she has only had one YYMN slot for them?

  220. DramaBore says:

228 – They get publicity. With all the sheep that follow everything Meg posts about, her favorite WAHMs get a lot of extra traffic. Just think about where TFK and KBK would be without Meg raving about all her “special gifts” from them.

  221. Cheesewhiz says:

I don’t know anything about this.

    But I’m subscribing for sure.

  222. Hmmmmm says:

I can see how embellished pockets could be a niche, I don’t think I’ve seen much of it. Not that it’s like copyrighted or anything. So much of this don’t copy so and so is just about respect. Again, I bring up Silly Stripes….no one dare copy those and I’d pay like $200 for some, kinda ashamed about that, but I would…:p

  223. Hmmmmm says:

Didn’t someone say Meg like has a stalker now, LOL! I guess there is a downside!

  224. DramaBore says:

230 – She does a lot of cable work, especially on pockets. It started with the owl. but she has branched out and done other animals, too. Yes, she is a newer WAHM, but she was trying to establish it as her “thing”.

  225. Hmmmmm says:

    235…werd.

  226. DramaBore says:

Well, Meg would probably love a stalker, since she is so high on herself.

  227. trollin4friends says:

yes, “ocd much?” is putting it lightly.

also, regarding pam, she doesnt even really make stuff to sell much anymore, so that again is kind of a misnomer in this little spat. the stuff she actually makes is for rare auctions or donation or whatever, she makes money off of patterns i suppose but even then, you buy it once and thats it. not like there is a huge influx of new blood to the DS / diapering wool crowd to really rake in the dough over it. ya know?

thats why i really dont understand someone being all up in arms over a “stolen” pattern or idea, pam doesnt even sell her wares or probably care much at all about her popularity.

anyway, i’m tired, it was fun gals.

  228. Hmmmmm says:

I still think Aimee could stock her HC with embellishe pocket shorties and longies and she would have no problem doing well with her business. Her snail shorties did VERY well in the auction on the Oh Boy congo, and when she posted her owl shorties there were a lot of ooohs and ahhhhs; even with Meg’s bogus thread, there was interest in owl pocket longies, lol!

  229. screenname says:

235 – I see. That makes a little more sense.

  230. JustPeachy says:

226 that was my point originally. I tend to get off topic and not make much sense.

  231. Shabbychic says:

As much as I appreciate the recognition that it is my raves that propelled these WAHMs you speak of, I can assure you that it is their stellar work that has gotten them customs lists that are closed until 2010. I support WAHMs with integrity and superb quality products. I dont tend to support WAHMs with lousy, untested, half assed, I think I can make a buck products. And something tells me, that if you choose to cross the WAHMs off your list that I rave about only does 2 things. 1 leaves more open slots for me and my friends and 2 um doesn’t matter one iota to the WAHMs.

  232. monkey says:

It’s not dramariffic yet, but I think this one could bear watching.
    http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=743412

  233. Hawk says:

226- That’s really a whole ‘nother thread.. Can’t imagine the amount of shit that would fly if it was brought up for real. 🙂

I have to say though, at least if Meg does get special treatment, she keeps the shit to herself. So, point for Meg.

Sounds like the mama in question made an honest mistake. Looks like she took it too far, but as many of us that have been upset know… we aren’t always on our best behavior. *whistles*

I hope it gets worked out.

  234. LL says:

Missed most of the juiciness. Darn.

But I don’t understand why a topic about WAHM’s (or their ethics, or products or whatever else) always turns into a pissing contest between people posting here.

Peach, I get a little creeped out that you seem to change attitudes/sides from one topic to another. Multiple personalities? Warm and fuzzy, jovial and funny…..then it’s like an early scene from the Exorcist, complete with 180 head spins. You’ve made it so clear, crystal clear (in this topic anyways) that you don’t “like” Meg….for fuck sake let’s just let a sleeping dog rest.

As for the Owl pocket hoopla – still a bit confused, but it does sound like another typical WAHM silent battle for the glory.
Sadly, when you make a SHIT product (as Beaux Bottoms does); you can’t expect to be taken seriously. Knitting merino on size 9 needles to combat pooling isn’t going to earn you any blue ribbons.

  235. Shabbychic says:

Well well well. Lovely e-mail I got this morning.

Ok, I found your EF HILARIOUS, normally I wouldn’t care but this mama needs to be knocked down a couple of pegs…I was the winner of the snail collab. The shorties were HORRIBLE, like beyond bad, omg I cannot believe she sold these bad. I had to fight her to get a refund for them I love your boldness (when you’re not being snarky towards me ) shocking that no one has bought the $90 skirtie yet…

THIS is why I stick to my, what did someone call them “overpriced” wahms. I would prefer to pay whatever is charged for my quality products. TYVM.

I have pics of the snail shorts if anyone cares. Looks as if we all got lucky by Pam writing it out for us. Wouldnt want the owls to look like the snails.

  236. ~JC~ says:

    I’m interested in seeing Meg

  237. mmspirit7 says:

Well I personally would need to see what they looked like and I have a question, if the pics show how bad they are then why did this woman buy them, i mean did she buy them site unseen? didn’t she see pics. Good this crap is easily a reason why I turned away from wool before and did normal covers for my son. To much in fitting.

and Silly strips I really don’t get how they are heres and shes the only one that can do them I have a friend’s sister who knits and has been pants like that for about 20 years.

  238. my4monkeys says:

I did see pics before hand but they were nothing like the shorties IRL….if I had known how they were knit I would never have purchased them, on top of the fact that the snail was starting to fall off after an hour of him having them on. I really did try to look past the flaws but I couldn’t. That being said, this is my first pair from this mama, so it could just be a fluke? IDK but I love the other two items in the collab!!!

  239. DramaBore says:

    Bring on the pics.

  240. MatildasMum says:

I, too, would be interested in seeing them.

  241. werd says:

oh for the love of pete, you psycho wool people. THEY’RE PANTS. PAAAAANTS!! Are they really worth ripping each other to shreds over?! PANTS!!?!?!? God!

  242. Hawk says:

    247-
If it is the same pants I am thinking of (from the Oh Boy! stocking), they looked fine in the images I’ve seen.

I would also be curious to see these pictures..

  243. yikes says:

    pictures needed!!!

  244. Hawk says:

Here is the pictures from the Collab.. if these are the same pants.

    http://hyenacart.com/prod_details_auction.php?id=42127&vid=2929

  245. yikes says:

they look fine in that picture…

  246. LL says:

They may look fine in photos from the collab, but holding them and seeing them up close and personal was quite another story for the buyer.

  247. MatildasMum says:

Why LL? What was wrong with them? Or – was it that Nicole had buyer’s remorse?

  248. my4monkeys says:

Wow totally not buyers remorse I at, I was VERY upset that they were such poor quality as I had wanted them since I first saw them. I am NOT one of those mamas that buys and then turns around and sells.

  249. MatildasMum says:

    what was wrong?

  250. my4monkeys says:

They were knit on 9’s which left them very “holey” IRL and the gusset was horribly done, HUGE holes and the snail started to fall off after an hour of wear, it was at that point that I took them off of J and and knew they were not going to work like I had hoped they would. : (

  251. yikes says:

that’s so disappointing 😦 the set was expensive.

  252. MatildasMum says:

Thats a shame. But why does she need to be “knocked down a couple of pegs”?

  253. mdmr says:

263 I would like to know that too! Did you even ask the WAHM about it?

  254. DramaBore says:

Well, it was only so expensive since it was an auction. Did you contact the WAHM? Were you pleasant about it?

  255. my4monkeys says:

Because of the big fuss she’s making over these freaking owl pockets, it’s crazy. She was not the first and will not be the last to make those, I don’t understand how WAHM’s can claim an item that is not unique to them. This is not the first time this has happened and her post on her blog was way out of line. I can understand the sentiment behind the item but it’s not her design.

  256. my4monkeys says:

I was very pleasent about it, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar but I was not satisfied with her reasoning and offer at first but it is now all good in the hood! : )

  257. DSDM2 says:

Looking at this pair, I can see being disappointed. There are a lot of knitting errors in them.

    http://hyenacart.com/prod_details.php?id=37119&vid=2929

  258. MatildasMum says:

She admits she’s not the first. She was upset bc the owl pocket was to be her niche and THAT was taken from her. Her feelings were hurt. She spilled her guts on a blog. Out of line? How are her feelings out of line? It’s how she feels.

Yes – perhaps it would have been best for her to talk directly with Pam about it but she didn’t. She probably regrets not doing so now.

  259. mdmr says:

    Did the thread get deleted?

  260. ~JC~ says:

#268 where are the knitting errors? Maybe I’m blind but I’m not really seeing anything other than it looks like the short rows are in the front on the right hand side

  261. mmspirit7 says:

271…I am such a newbe but the looked nice to me.

  262. mmspirit7 says:

    *they opps

  263. my4monkeys says:

Hey we’ve all been there where we wish we wouldn’t have posted/said something…coughcoughcrankypantscoughcough BUT this involves someones business, KWIM? IMO it’s a little different! : )

  264. LL says:

First, she knit them on needles that were about 2-3 sizes larger than what was recommended for the yarn weigh…so they look rather swiss-cheesy in person. There are missed stitches, the gusset isn’t closed properly at the kichener and the wee little snail on the pocket basically fell off.

Not worth the $60 plus dollars they are “valued” at. Beginners quality at best.

  265. ~JC~ says:

Are you going to link your pictures? I’m a bit of a lurker in the wool thread and always thought she does a great job so I’m hesitant to believe that they are that bad without actually seeing a picture of the missed stitches, unproperly closed gusset and snail

  266. MatildasMum says:

Hey we’ve all been there where we wish we wouldn’t have posted/said something…coughcoughcrankypantscoughcough BUT this involves someones business, KWIM? IMO it’s a little different! : )”

Exactly. This is going to affect Aimee’s business. It’s nice to see that everything between you and Aimee is all “good in the ‘hood”. Does she know you wanted her knocked down a couple of pegs?

  267. my4monkeys says:

What she tried to do was affect someone elses business, thats not ok. It’s all good because I do not have to keep these shorties that were knit so poorly. She is the one with the giant ego and thought the owl pockets were her “niche” not me. And “knocked down a couple of pegs” is a saying when someones gotten too big for their britches like she did here.

  268. MatildasMum says:

A giant ego? Because she thought she found her niche?? No way. That’s not a giant ego – that’s a fact. She thought she had found her niche with an owl pocket. HOW does that make her egotistical??

And really? How is her little blog post going to affect Pam at.all????

  269. JustPeachy says:

Funny they dont look knit on large needles IMO.
Call it whatever you will multiple personalities or what not. Some times I just happen to realize I let my mouth get ahead of my brain and yes I do apologize for that.
I should never has said shit about who did what first and whatnot. The original point I was trying to get across was that Meg should’ve left it alone and let Pam and Aimee hash it out.

  270. JustPeachy says:

Thats what I fail to realize Amy. I mean sure some people are going to see it and think twice about purchasing Pam’s patterns but I seriously doubt its going to cause a mass exodus of her customers.

  271. my4monkeys says:

She is saying Pam copied her post from DS and made it into her own, thats how. And now a crapload of people have read her blog stating that. And a giant ego because she’s off pouting on the playground looking for her big girl panties because someone stole her idea thats been around for ages, she didn’t invent owls she didn’t invent pockets and she didn’t invent owl pockets, jeez.

  272. mmspirit7 says:

monkey can i see pics of the bad knitting please?

  273. MatildasMum says:

Seriously. Can you not fucking read?? She has NEVER said she invented any of those things. And you’re one to talk about BGPs. LMFAO.

  274. Sharpie says:

I don’t get what is going on at all, but those snails look like dog turd to me.

  275. JustPeachy says:

Its probably because they are in colorway. For some reason embellishments look like crap in colorway.

  276. my4monkeys says:

Listen Amy as much as I would LOVE to get into a pissing match with you we all have our moments as I said before, this original topic does not involve me at all, I emailed Meg this morning about all this and she posted it here. You can go on defending your cyber friend all you want but bottom line is she took this all too far and now look what it’s turned into. Everyone involved has hurt feelings I’m sure. And I can read, TYVM.

  277. JustPeachy says:

Well of course if you stretch em they are gonna look holey.

  278. my4monkeys says:

The snail was adorable IRL btw!

  279. mdmr says:

Uh, you are stretching the shit out of them monkey mama.

  280. my4monkeys says:

Um totally not stretching, just holding them up!

  281. JustPeachy says:

No even if they were knit on too big needles they would not look like that unless they are stretched. Trust me I know from experience from getting woolies knit on too big of needles and doing so myself.

  282. MatildasMum says:

Look. If you’re unhappy with something, by all means – do something to make it right. However, emailing Meg and giggling about her super-cool post that was trying to ridicule another mama is defenseless. No pissing contest here.

  283. LL says:

No, no, no….stretching does not a holey pair of pants create. I have owned a single pair of lose, sloppy knit pants….and those suckers went right back where they came from in a flash. When you can clearly see the color and pattern of the diaper THROUGH the knitting – something is wrong.

Of the pairs currently in my possession, I would have to literally have my daughter hold one side and I hold the other and pull to get enough tension to be able to see through them to that extent.

So, either this one pair is knit badly, or I’ve just gotten lucky 99% of the time when buying knit pants.

  284. mdmr says:

293 EXACTLY! And it sounds like Aimee made it right anyway! So what more can you ask for? Meg’s post was uncalled for no matter which way you look at it.

  285. JustPeachy says:

#295 that is the nature of knit. Its supposed to have some stretch to it and of course if you pull on it and try to stretch it duh its gonna look holey.

  286. LL says:

So, then it would stand to reason that pants laying flat (where stitches are snug together) should spread out and look “holey” when actually on the babys body and over a diaper?

I think not. And thank god there are zero pairs of pants I own that do that. I’d be pissed.

  287. mdmr says:

No 298, that’s why there are short rows in the back.

  288. StacEy says:

totally agree with 295. When knit properly, knit pants will NOT look all holey like that when stretched. Also, does anyone think she could actually stretch them that badly with one hand on the camera?

  289. TL says:

huh, um wow, all this over wool huh? its about time to step back from the computer ladies. seriously.

  290. screenname says:

In the second picture, the wool is obviously not stretched at the sides (it has a couple natural folds) and you can still see through them.

  291. screenname says:

294 – Are you sure? The first thread says she can’t file with PP because it’s been over 45 days. The second thread said she’s had a claim filed against her.

  292. JustPeachy says:

302 you will unless they are knit super duper tight like on size 5s with no stretch. I actually have a pair knit on 5s and thats the only pair I cant see thru. I even went upstairs to check and I tried to get pics just to prove a point but alas I suck at picture taking on the fly.

  293. MatildasMum says:

301 – what ELSE would it be about? I mean, this IS a drama blog about a diapering board – as rickdickulous as that sounds. 😉

  294. LL says:

Peach, who has been knitting the pants you own? Most of what I’ve bought over the last 3 years has been knit with 6-8 size needles, and like I stated, they dont look like somebody hit them with buckshot.

I’m starting to wonder if you have crappy wool and just aren’t aware that it should be done better.

  295. magpiedpiper says:

    #303 –

Loveskitten says that the buyer “finally responded with a PM saying she got them and f/b on 4/08. ‘Wonderful mama would b/s anytime'”

Her iTrader feedback has ladybug6 leaving feedback on 4/07 saying “Wonderful Momma! Would buy again anytime!!”

ladybug6 says in her thread that the seller hasn’t been on in weeks, and she pm’d asking for DC.
She could have filed a dispute, even though she’s over the 45 days, right?

Loveskitten in her thread says that she has not been on DS for a couple weeks.

Seems like a lot of coincidences if they aren’t the same situation.

  296. JustPeachy says:

No the one pair I have knit by another wahm is very reputable. Ive only bought used wool. I figure if its note obvious during wear, not obvious when its laid out flat, and does what its supposed to do then whats to complain about?
And I seriously dare all of you ladies who own knit wool to take a pair upstairs and hold the front of it up to the light and tell me you can’t see anything thru them. Its essentially string made into a garment so I dont see who its not possible unless its felted or knit on toothpicks.

  297. mbeeman says:

I’m the one who filed that JAR and I should have updated it. I did receive a FULL refund recently. However, the refund took her like 3 weeks after she said she would do it. I hope that everyone else is able to resolve with her. I have had nothing but good dealings with Lil’ Outlaws and will continue to do business with her.

  298. eeek says:

I went to the pile and held mine to the light, I can see tiny bits of daylight through when I hold them up in the same way as those- but it’s not the same, those do look much more loose. Hard to judge though, and it’s not really what I’m disturbed by, it’s the attitude.

I think beginning (or whatever) WAHMs need to stop being delusional about their “niche”. I’ve been making stuff to sell online for some years now, & the people I’ve seen succeed are people who make very nice stuff. Claiming no one can do their little thing, whatever it is, only makes them look bad (and like they don’t think they can just do it better). I don’t care when people copy my little touches- because they usually end up looking dumb, with a lame copy. It’s like advertisement for my being better at it. & if it’s not done badly, well, they’re turning my little thing into a trend, also good for me. Plus I know I can do many different things, so I’m not worried.

& that blog post, the narcissism & self pity, OH MY. To take someone she should be trying to emulate and instead call her out VERY publicly about something so ridiculous? Talk about admitting you are a one trick pony. If all you have to base a whole business on is a stitch that was everywhere in the 70’s- I had a rockin’ owl covered poncho my grandma knit & I know she didn’t think of it- you’re on very thin ice. I don’t think I’d admit that to the world if I were her!

If the daper pictured is not the exact same as the diaper for sale, why have the picture?

  300. my4monkeys says:

    Very well said #309 : )

  301. EM says:

I just checked my wool and you CAN see light through them like Peach said in 308. But when laying flat there are no holes or gaps. You can’t see the color/pattern of the dipe underneath when worn.

I think what she was trying to say was that the only pair that she couldn’t see through was knit with 5s.

Almost all the wool we have was knit on either 7-8 needles. We have wool by multiple knitters with multiple patterns (majority being knit with the pickypants pattern) so I think it’s pretty normal to be able to see light through them when held up to the light.

The snail pair could be a little loose, I don’t know without seeing them in person though.

  302. Hawk says:

I’ve got to agree with LL here…. I have more than a few pairs of wool too. While you can see if you press your face right into it, it is not like that what so ever.

You should not be to see clearly to the other side, or the pattern of the diaper.

  303. JustPeachy says:

LL doesn’t surprise me because people do harass ppl via ds about stupid stuff like that.

  304. DramaBore says:

Harassment is not called for whatsoever. And I too have been harassed via PM on DS.

  305. Shabbychic says:

The thing that has bothered me most all day about this thread is post 231. TFK and KBK would be in the exact same place they are now without me. Why bring other WAHMs that have nothing at all to do with this into this. It’s pretty bold to say that I have enough clout to make or break a WAHMs business. I apparently dont even think that highly of myself.

  306. eeek says:

Shabby- it’s the DS bubble, in which the whole world actually is somehow contained in that one lame forum site for many people. It’s how things get so very very distorted, it’s part of the reason for this blog. People who believe someone’s business is based entirely on one large-spending wool buyer’s raves- it’s kind of sad.

’cause yr cool, ma’am, but not that cool….. 😉

  307. Shabbychic says:

I think we all have a different criteria for harassment. I mostly, unless attacked with threats and profanity refer to it as bothered. Of course there are a lot of very sensitive souls who simply deem harassment as a PM that does not quite sit right with their opinion of themselves. Please, with throwing around the big H word. Buck up.

  308. LL says:

    #315

Wait, there is a DS group who actually harasses ( (1): to annoy persistently (2): to create an unpleasant or hostile situation for especially by uninvited and unwelcome verbal or physical conduct2: to worry and impede by repeated raids ) members over pants knit with small needles and/or poor tension?

    A Holey Pants Brigade?

Yippee skippy….where do I sign up?

    ROFLAMO

  309. ~*~MOMMA~*~ says:

    lol

  310. Messy says:

Wow… So, while cleaning house like a mad woman, I have missed drama surrounding pants…
She made pants that are like the ones she made first but she copied hers and she is the one who is being wronged (fill in the “she’s” however you see fit, same story).
Pants with holes are bad, no matter how they are made. If you can see through the pants and don’t plan on wearing them to work on the corner, then ya might have a problem (or a good outfit for the Jerry Spinger Show when your neighbor kills herself masterbating with a jackhammer)!
Does any or all of the above sound odd? Nah. Its normal shmormal DS discussion… Now, off to find a jackhammer!

  311. mdmr says:

312- I have no problem believing that.

    320- you might be surprised.

  312. LL says:

What do I care if people own and love lose knit pants?

    I really don’t.

They paid for it, they have it, they’re obviously “ok” with it.

But when a WAHM sells lose pants (that may or may not have other problems) and it isn’t what I expect or even what I want, and MY money has been spent, I will most definitely say something about that.

  313. BffMama says:

    Oy.

  314. Messy says:

#324 WTH are you talking to? Who said you should love your loose pants?

  315. nini02 says:

So, reading one of those woolly threads earlier – who on earth was harassing Katie from ENI? She seems really upset, and is talking about not doing co-ops anymore and staying away from DS? She is about as sweet as person can be, I would love to know the story there.

  316. JustPeachy says:

It was a customer from the last co-op who got pissed off at Katie. Apparently this person forgot to send their shipping as goods and when Katie contacted her and refunded her to resend it she went ape shit. No idea who it is but Id like to know so I can give em a good swift kick in the ass via the interwebz.

  317. mmspirit7 says:

since you ladies know so much about wool would this work

  318. seriously... says:

To those of you who think Aimee’s work is crappy…

    http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=743958

I know they are just pictures, but come on people, the woman is talented! I’d be careful to assume that she does crap work based on one woman’s dissatisfaction with her shorties. Hopefully this helps, this DS mama is clearly satisfied and rightly so…there is drool on the floor over here, lol!

  319. eeek says:

People suck sometimes, & the good part of co-ops for her should be that she doesn’t have to deal with them. That shit shouldn’t happen. She should have kicked her out of the co-op, she doesn’t have to let bitches save money.

& work for what? I have some winter socks made from that stuff, it’s lovely squishy yarn.

  320. JustPeachy says:

And Nikki didnt even know about the drama so I mean its not like she posted to do what most ds mamas do when a wahm gets ripped on.
And the yarn is aran weight which recommended SPI is 4.5 on size 7-9 needles.

  321. JustPeachy says:

And teh plumknit yarn is dk so you would have to either double strand it for longies or knit it on really small needles. If you want to know what weight of yarn to look for look for worsted or aran weight yarn.

  322. mdmr says:

330- those are so pretty! I love the bird. And oh lookie, Shabby commented on them.

  323. seriously... says:

334, I know….weird. Is she like schizo or something?

  324. eeek says:

    Cute pants.

But honestly, the blog call-out ruins it for me. That was a petty & small way to go about living. Obviously she has a lot of DS friends, she must have good points, but please, really, take an honest look at the level of narcissism & disregard for possible harm to others in that blog post. If she’s a cool person, she should be able to step back & not want to be such a bitch, she should take down that post that is titled with someone else’s name. She’s not right, she doesn’t own owl cables. She didn’t write the pattern that’s being distributed. If her stuff’s good let it stand on it’s own, don’t blame others.

I don’t think people should harass her, of course, that’s insane. It’s obviously been pointed out to her, her actions at this point are either going to be positive or continue on the path she’s started.

  325. mmspirit7 says:

peach thanks that’s my thing I wasn’t sure what to look for.

oh and that set is soo freaking cute!

  326. JustPeachy says:

I wonder if she even bothered to apologize for being a douchebag?

  327. JustPeachy says:

She was upset eeek. We all do things we regret when we are upset and who are we to assume she doesn’t regret it and wish she had done things differently.

  328. Erin says:

If the blog is still up, then it would seem she’s sticking by her story and doesn’t regret it.

  329. eeek says:

I can totally understand that! & if she got a little perspective & took down the blog, short email to Pam to say she had been overreacting, I think it’d be no big deal at all.
One of the most important things I learned as I got older was that people have an amazing capacity to forgive, if you realize you made a mistake & admit it. I hope for her sake she can do that. Maybe if she does step back from DS she’ll get it, as we all know that place feeds the dramaz……

  330. mmspirit7 says:

man i found these longies I want but they were an action and looks like no one bid but I still want them but I haven’t gotten an answer back from the seller…ugh sorry venting

  331. Shabbychic says:

Why am I schizo? I call it like it is. They are lovely. I never made a judgment on her knitting, just her behavior. I only reposted an e-mail about her knitting. Her knitting and her behavior are two entirely different things. I can appreciate a picture of pretty colored string when I see it.

  332. DSDM2 says:

#271, there were what I thought were obvious tension issues and I thought some twisted stitches, but now that she pulled all of her photos and work, I couldn’t tell you for sure, or even double check myself.

  333. seriously... says:

Oh, don’t be shady shabby…you totally implied that her work is crap and that she doesn’t create high quaity items. I am happy to see that you posted that you liked those though, maybe you do have a heart :p

  334. Thud says:

    So, who *is* Pam?!

  335. seriously... says:

DSDM2…are you sure you have the right WAHM? Her HC is Beaux Bottoms…find something to critique that she actually made.

  336. mmspirit7 says:

349 there is nothing in her store looks like shes taking a break or something

  337. JustPeachy says:

I didnt see anything wrong with them at all and I look nowadays ever since the Korin thing.

  338. JustPeachy says:

Ya she is taking a break. Seems par for the course when you get ripped apart on DS. That makes two great WAHMs we have lost in the past 2 months.

  339. mmspirit7 says:

    who was the other one

  340. DSDM2 says:

The pants I linked in 268 were hers. I have the right wham.

Don’t start bashing me because you all like her. I commented on her pants/longies she had for sale, but has since pulled. If I am mistaken on the errors, I would have said so, but I can’t tell for sure since she pulled them.

http://hyenacart.com/onestore.php?vid=2929&category=29 She has no listings in this store any longer.

  341. Messy says:

So… She is upset over something said on DS. Closes up shop and pulls all her stuff over one little nag? I don’t get it???

  342. JustPeachy says:

No one is bashing you DSDM2. Just said I didnt see it.

  343. DSDM2 says:

“find something to critique that she actually made.” pissed me off a little.

Come on, I do my freaking research, if I didn’t, this blog wouldn’t be what it is.

I know what her freaking store name is, and the pants were for sale in her fucking store.

  344. DSDM2 says:

and yes peach, I know it wasn’t you.

  345. DSDM2 says:

seriously, since you came here just to defend you little knitter, why not let us know who you really are? hmm? Why doesn’t she come here herself and post photos?

  346. seriously... says:

I made a point to make sure I paid and then simply forgot about it and was waiting for my order. I happened to go into paypal today to send some money. Otherwise, I still would have no clue that there was even a problem.

I still am not sure what is going on and don’t really have the time to read through a bunch of pages as I have a final exam tomorrow.

  348. screenname says:

That was posted on the thread. I’m pretty sure paypal sends you an email when you are refunded. It’s totally NOT Katie’s fault that this chick was too busy to read the first post in a coop she was in. She saved 25% off her order by going through this coop. Why couldn’t she be bothered to follow the rules?

In most any other coop the store owner doesn’t update the thread and let everyone know when she’s finished with each step of the process. Katie does. She has several posts on the thread and she updated the spreadsheet.

There have been several issues with this particular coop with people sending service/goods when they were supposed to send the other way. Yeah, you’re taking a gamble when you send the payment for the actual items as service and the shipping as goods. But if you don’t like it, don’t coop.

  349. JustPeachy says:

Well common sense says to send as goods because if she sent it as a service her address would not come up for shipping purposes. No wonder Katie doesn’t want to do co-ops anymore.

  350. Shabbychic says:

347-I implied nothing of the sort. My craptastic make a buck comment was in response to being accused from buying from overpriced wahms. I was merely saying I prefer to buy quality items in response to the attack on my buying criteria. I have neither owned bo bottoms work, nor seen it in person. Again, this was a discussion surrounding her behavior which was circumvented with an e-mail about her work and subsequent provision of detailed pictures of said work. Bitchy, sure. Shady, nah.

  351. my4monkeys says:

Awe I’m super sad about the Katie ENI drama, she’s the sweetest WAHMama and does an awesome job on her co-ops!!!! That mama clearly had other issues and needs to take a pill.

  352. Megan says:

I agree with 366. The only other person that has ever taken issue with Katie was Equivocal Tiffany… and we all know how THAT went down.

  353. Kimbella says:

DSDM2 – Here’s her flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aimeevcb/ I’m guessing those longies would be in there somewhere.

  354. nini02 says:

364 – if you send the payment as service, you have the option of adding your address in before you hit send. And if you send it as service, it doesn’t count against the monthly receiving limit Paypal puts on personal accounts, IIRC.

362 – I had found that post yesterday too and wondered if that was the one. I’m really sorry that she’s so busy she can’t be bothered to follow the steps of a co-op. She should have gotten speshul treatment because she’s obviously the only person who is busy and/or in school, lol.

  355. just_sayin says:

So Katie is done with co ops because one person got confused? Whah whah whah. Suck it up, shortcake, you’re a WAHM. People are going to complain, get upset, and get confused. Jeez Louise.

Shabby, you sure like to put in every post how expensive the things you buy are. Does it make you feel like a better person to brag about it? You act like you are the only person on DS with a large income. You’re not. You’re just the only one who brags about it all. the. time. You should take a month where you don’t mention once on DS how much you spend, or how you only buy expensive items (that reply was snotty, snobby, mean, pretentious and uncalled for by the way). Maybe instead try to compliment someone that isn’t you for a change. Or lend an ear when someone else is down. Participate in the general chat for a while and see if you can make friends because of who you are, and not how much money your dh makes.

  356. Shabbychic says:

I didnt mention how much I spend, someone else did, lol. And I dont want to make friends in chat. If I did, I would. I have all the friends I need. Wait, let me go check and see if I mentioned in the month of April that something I bought was expensive. I’ll be right back. Oh wait though, am I not allowed to post anything I buy that is expensive? Like if I bought an expensive lens, I cant mention it, but if I buy a pack of gum, I can? Just clarifying.

  357. Shabbychic says:

Nope, nope, no post in April on how expensive my things are. Well, I did post about my new lens, but I’m waiting for you to let me know if I need to filter my posts and only rave about inexpensive items I buy. But you will also need to let me know who exactly heads up the committee that determines what is expensive and what isnt so I can check with them. K?

  358. DSDM2 says:

OK, I didn’t see those pants, but if you look at her close-ups, you can see her tension issues.

Is she a good knitter? Yes. But I (like Meg) would rather but from an overprice WAHM.

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/aimeevcb/3369669205/

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/aimeevcb/3296716117/

And if she used the same gauge for this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aimeevcb/3245246246/ as she did the snails, yeah, it is not how I would want mine.

  359. Shabbychic says:

DSDM2-Don’t you know? You are not allowed to say you buy overpriced things. How dare you shove it in people’s faces that you have money to spend on what you want. Hand slap. Inexpensive from now on. But, I need to hear from the inexpensive vs. expensive committee first, so I’ll let you know. Mmmkay? rolls eyes.

  360. DSDM2 says:

Who gives a shit how much people spend. You spend more for quality, no matter what the situation.

In this case, her work is just good. Not great. I would rather have great.

  361. LL says:

Wait, so it’s now taboo to discuss how much was paid for an item? Oh my….that’s interesting.

What this comes down to (in my opinion) is more a matter of envy.
If people have the money, they are free to spend it as they chose. If Meg decides to share what she’s had made (and in the time I’ve been on DS, I have never seen Meg mention a price anywhere….just fwiw), then it’s her decision.

It’s so simple. If you feel she is “rubbing it in your face”, I’d venture to guess that’s an issue you need to work out within yourself. Furthermore, it’s also easy to pass her post or thread right over. Its a big board. There are lots of things to look at 😉

DSDM2 : Agree with you. I have NO doubts that Aimee has a skill, but craftsmanship should be consistent. Making one pair that is positively perfect is great, but people need to be able to expect that level of workmanship with every piece, or receive a discount accordingly if you screw it up.

  362. diudiaole says:

Can someone link me to some “great” knitting then? So she just needs to make her work tighter or what? Sorry, I’m not a knitter and while I can see the gross errors, the subtle ones escape me.

  363. mmspirit7 says:

yeah what 377 i know there wee a couple earlier posted but i forgit them nak

  364. DSDM2 says:

The tightness or even-ness of the stitches needs to be uniform. Her’s is looser and tighter in areas and not quite uniform. It is how tight you pull the yarn/stitches and how you use the needle/pull on the needle while knitting.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/aimeevcb/3296716117/ you can see about an inch above her thumb that they aren’t uniform, and also that she was having problems with the yarn.

Like I said, she is a good knitter! (better than me). Just not a great one yet.

As for the hat, it was “hole-y” just like the one mom described the snail shorties to be.

  365. diudiaole says:

Ok I can see it now, wow… who are some of the best wahm knitters?

  366. Incognizable says:

@379 I see it . I’m not a knitter and I would have missed it.

  367. mmspirit7 says:

381 yeah i would have too I looked at the pic and didn’t see anything they she stated what was wrong and then i could see it LOL

  368. nini02 says:

370 – “So Katie is done with co ops because one person got confused? Whah whah whah. Suck it up, shortcake, you’re a WAHM. People are going to complain, get upset, and get confused. Jeez Louise.”

Katie has handled many issues, questions, confusions and mix-ups with her co-ops very well in the past (and she does a ton of them) and is an very patient person, from everything I’ve seen, so I’m guessing there must have been more to the story.

  369. DSDM2 says:

Is it true she has only been knitting since September? That would explain a lot…

  370. GMLovah! #1 Fan says:

“And if she used the same gauge for this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aimeevcb/3245246246/ as she did the snails, yeah, it is not how I would want mine.”

That’s handspun which is a whole different ball o’ wax from regular yarn. It’s not really fair to compare handspun FOs to that of regular yarn.

And I am greatly amused that my4monkeys will diss Aimee’s work, yet rave about amski’s knitting. The person who knit this fine piece of work: http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=715402

    Yeah. Greatly amused.

  371. my4monkeys says:

amski is a brand new knitter and had worked hard on those pieces and she deserved a rave for that. While I am really not a fan I know how much work she put into them and I did not expect alot for them but REALLY appreciated all the hard work she did. It is totally different with Aimee, so there is no way to compare those two. I was being nice in appreciating her hard work, thats it.

  372. Messy says:

I have been knitting for a couple years. My stitches are not perfect. Yeah, I can knit some cute stuff (tops for myself, woolies, etc) but I cannot in good faith sell any of it. It is not the quality that people deserve when they are paying their money for a service. That is what these pop-up-overnight WAHMs need to understand. Having the *ability to knit (or do anything) does not a professional make! Seriously, when you pay someone to do something it is called being in the profession… I would be pissed as hell if I got woolies from someone knit like I knit! And I am sure there are tons of others that feel the same way.

  373. Messy says:

Also, in the link at: http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=715402
What are those splotches in the color pattern??? In pink and purple only it would be nicer yarn…

  374. GMLovah! #1 Fan says:

I’m sure Aimee worked hard on her snail shorts too. How is it “totally different” with Aimee? Both people worked hard.

And thank you Messy. I think some people should work on their technique a little bit more before they venture into selling.

  375. lisa says:

So if someone was an amazing knitter who breezes through all her knitting because it’s so easy for her, she shouldn’t be raved?
Hard work does not always equal talent. And I kind of don’t think amski worked so hard on those. She could use a lot more practice…

  376. my4monkeys says:

Because I’m pretty sure I was her first customer and I’m pretty sure I was not Aimee’s first customer, she’s been around for a little bit. I had request a custom with amski, I bought something Aimee had already knitted. Those shorties should never have been passed off as first quality shorties, I knew what I was getting into with amski, with Aimee more was expected. The level that Aimee is at is different from the level that amski is at, thats how it is totally different. I thought I was buying a good quality product, it was not. Now like I said in one of my first posts here, it could be just a fluke, IDK, but I do know that the product I purchased was not up to par, at all.

  377. Molly says:

385 I totally agree with you about the hat. That FO was knit with handspun yarn. Due to the handspinning process the yarn will have variations in thickness. An item knitted from handspun yarn and commercially prepared yarn cannot be compared.

  378. my4monkeys says:

She was constantly pm’ing me with her progress and was very proud of her work, she’s brand new and like I said, I appreciated her hard work as a new knitter. Yes she could use some practice but I didn’t not expect a fantastic product, just a useful one. With Aimee I expected a quality product from what I had heard about her products, what I got was not quality. I am so tired of going circles on this topic, I posted pictures, they are not a quality product, period.

  379. GMLovah! #1 Fan says:

It doesn’t really matter that you were amski’s first customer or that Aimee’s shorts were instock. Fact of the matter is that they are both selling their work and it is incredibly ironic that you criticize Aimee’s work while raving about amski. It is what it is, you can make all the excuses in the world. If they’re both selling stuff, they should be held at the same level. They are both knitters, selling their work. Period.

  380. Megan says:

386 – Wow, how awesome and generous of you. 🙄

  381. my4monkeys says:

#395 LOL, mmmk whatever, I see it as different. There are different levels to which everyone holds different WAHMamas to, thats just the way it is. There are the very high quality ones down to the newest ones, with each one there is a different level of quality expected, IMO. You know what you’re getting yourself into based on that. The FO’s of Aimees that I had seen were amazing so I had no doubt in my mind when bidding that I was getting an amazing product, until I had it in my hands. There is not one person here that would not have done the same thing in being upset at the quality I got from her, knowing her reputation.

  382. GMLovah! #1 Fan says:

Well, that’s kind of sad that you are happy to not only accept, but pay money for a subpar item just because a WAHM is new. I wonder if Dwell Wool’s first sold woolies looked like those… hmm.. I’m thinking no. I’m sorry, but if there are huge, glaring flaws in the work, then maybe it’s time to do some more practicing before venturing into WAHM-land. Because not everyone is going to be jim-dandy with 4th quality work just because a WAHM is new.

  383. my4monkeys says:

The items from amski were purchases at a tester price, like I’ve said a few times, I knew not to expect a high quality item.

  384. my4monkeys says:

    *purchased

  385. Molly says:

397 It doesn’t look like you, or anyone else for that matter, will have to worry about receiving anymore of Aimee’s work. Looks like she has closed up shop.

We all get it. You didn’t like the quality of her work. Case closed.

  386. my4monkeys says:

She had planned on closing up shop before all this happened to knit and sew for her family and focus on her photography.

  387. MatildasMum says:

Does Amski know that you raved her out of pity? Does she read this blog, I wonder?

  388. my4monkeys says:

Go ahead and link her up Amy. She will read how much I appreciated her hard work 🙂

    Anyone else having problems?
I was supposed to get back with a WONDERFUL mama today about some diapers. I had posted earlier about how I told her not to hold dipes for me because of a hold, but she did anyway and was super sweet.

Well all day today I’ve tried to get on here and it wouldn’t load. Even now it’s going extremely slow.

Just wondering if anyone else had this problem or if my computer really is about to bite the dust like I told DH a few days ago (I also had problems with another site). I feel so bad for this mama who has been waiting on me!!

And now I’m getting an error message trying to post….

And isn’t Oh Boy a new congo? I’m honestly curious why Aimee would join a new congo if she was planning on closing up shop soon anyway?

  393. my4monkeys says:

408- I’m not sure, I found it weird too, thats just what I was told this morning by someone from DS!

  398. Flippin out says:

Nicole, I think it is pretty crappy to come here and slam her after you admitted she resolved it to your satisfaction. It appears that you got some sort of satisfaction out of joining in on the anti-Aimee bandwagon that was spearheaded by Meg. It sort of reminds me of the less popular girls in high school who would join up with the popular snobs just to be “in”. The email you sent Meg just rubbed me completely the wrong way.
I don’t understand all the the specifics about dates, and hurt feeling about patterns, etc. since I don’t know Aimee at all. While I can’t defend or justify her blog rant, I think this whole situation was completely blown out of proportion. I have seen a lot of cruel treatment that has left me really disgusted.

  399. GMLovah! #1 Fan says:

Why oh why do people take pics of their wares on CARPET??

  400. my4monkeys says:

I did not choose to come on here and slam Aimee. Meg brought it here, I was just backing up my issues with it. I have seen much worse done on here and on DS for that matter. I think for the most part I have been pretty nice about the whole thing towards Aimee, I said this particular pair could have been just a fluke because the past work of hers that I’ve seen has been beautiful and the shorties in theory were great, just some bad craftsmanship IMO. Meg felt my experience drove home her point. I am not on any anti anything bandwagon, I just had a bad experience with this particular mama, end of story. I am not the one dragging this on and on, I am only responding to posts directed towards me or what I said.

  401. newhere says:

I dont think thats the first time I’ve seen that skirty spammed here

  402. Kate says:

She closed up shop because of all the drama. She was not planning on closing her store.

  403. screenname says:

I agree 417. If they’re so cute why are they so cheap and why all the spam? Eager to get in on the “Why the hell is this person a WAHM?” drama?

  404. theinvisible says:

    417
I haven’t seen it here before but I saw it on CDN the other day with the exact same title to the post.

  405. newhere says:

I’m pretty sure I saw it on another thread here recently. But there’s way too many posts for me to go looking! LOL

  406. Foo-man-choo says:

417 – It’s not the first time. She did it in post 65 as well. And seriously-it’s not that cute.

My4monkeys – the knitting in that Amski big pic thread is OMG horrible. If you wanted to show your appreciation for her hard work, you could have just pm’d her or left positive feedback (which in itself would be a huge stretch IMO) Having posted the rave and then coming here to dog the other WAHM, just makes you look silly. Sending the chummy “please notice me because I agree with you” e-mail to someone who by your own words picks on you, well that just makes you look pathetic.

  407. nini02 says:

418 – Did you talk to her? I’m not too keen on taking Nicole’s ‘heard it from someone who heard it from someone’ info at face value.

I wish Aimee would come here and give her side of all this.

  408. Hmmmmm says:

I just want to add the Aimee’s YYMN prices are EXTREMELY reasonable. Tester prices IMO, so you do get what you pay for at worst, at best an incredible deal. If quality isn’t perfect, then it’s fogiveable for the price. If it’s not in usable condition or ugly then that’s one thing, but if it’s not perfect, I think it’s ok for the price being charged.

  409. haha says:

skirtie is ugly with HORRID pooling. I wouldn’t pay for it at all…I would frog it and start over though.

  410. my4monkeys says:

422- think whatever you want, I did what I did and whether you agree or not doesn’t affect me at all. And I’m pretty sure I said the word snarky which I think Meg has gotten with alot of people at one time or another.

  411. Thud says:

my4monkeys~ do you get what testers are for? not ‘here is some crappy work, but it is a tester’ ~ they are for ‘here is my best work, I am almost ready to sell it and want to take some final checks on form and function in use’

I don’t buy “I expect low quality in a tester’ any more than ‘it’s handmade so there may be some glaring flaws’ from others.

And be frank about your request to amski~ it was to have her rip of Silly Stripes for you, right? Which is as bad as the WAHMs who copy, ya know. Just sayin’ You put the knitter in an unfair position.

  412. Kate says:

423- yes and it was the drama that started on DS that had her make the decision to close up shop. She was planning for the next Oh Boy stocking when this all went down and then withdrew from the congo.

As for Katie ENI she is quitting co ops on DS because the person who was being pissy then went on to call her kids names. That was the last straw and why she said she wans not going to be around DS anymore.

  413. Hmmmmm says:

Can someone post the link to Monkey’s fake Silly Stripes? I’m curious.

  414. JustPeachy says:

She was quitting sewing diapers to focus on her knitting not closing up shop. Unfortunately Nicole and Meg’s issues with her have caused her to take a break.
Nicole I have to say this because I wanted to like you but you are an absolute dumb ass. I cannot believe you would sit there and talk shit about Aimee’s knitting yet rave amyski with her craptastic work.
And secondly I peeked at Aimee’s flickr gallery and alot of those pictures look like they are unblocked ie they weren’t even washed. Any knitter will tell you that sometimes yarn doesn’t cooperate and look all nice and neat until AFTER its blocked.

  415. Incognizable says:

@428, wow about eni, that is really, really low, like gum on my shoe low. what a lame bitch, kids are off limits, really.

  416. Messy says:

#394 QUIT SPAMMING EVERYWHERE! Seriously! If it was *that* cute, someone would have bid on it by now. It is not that cute, it is shameful that you are spamming your shit this way, so move the fuck on down the road (since you have so much time on your hands, feel free to go crochet that road!)

  417. DSDM2 says:

Peach, I picked ones that looked blocked.

  418. my4monkeys says:

Rip off silly stripes? Where the hell did you get that? They are NOTHING like silly stripes nor did I ask them to be like silly stripes. Nice try though.

  419. screenname says:

428 – Was it the same person from the thread? Westlysbride? That is seriously an asshole thing to do. I don’t care what another adult does to you, kids stay out of it. Besides the fact that Katie did nothing wrong.

That coop has been really dramariffic. Snelson (host) had her paypal account locked because people paid goods rather than service during the initial order.

  420. Hmmmmm says:

433…can you tell by looking at a photo?

  421. my4monkeys says:

I held Aimees work and abilities higher than amskis and for good reason obviously. I have said a ton of times Aimees work is beautiful and these snail shorties, flaws aside were adorable but the flaws were big ones IMO and to have paid $120 for a collab that is missing the most important piece sucks, so I’m really happy that we were able to work it out. Now can we move on to another topic? Like WAHMamas stalking their own store, what are your thoughts on this?????

  422. JustPeachy says:

Ok I don’t see anything wrong with the first pair? Is it the design itself?

  423. Hmmmmm says:

Anyone care to enlighten me why it’s not ok for someone to ask a WAHM to copy Silly Stripes, but it IS ok to bash Aimee for being upset at her Owls being copied? I understand she did not the owl pocket invent, but Monica did not invent different knitting stiches and she certainly didn’t invent stripes, and I am 100% sure she wasn’t the first to make a pair of baby woolies putting the 2 together. To sell them perhaps, but not to combine those two things. How is this differnt from the Owl Pocket situation???? It was post 427 that reminded me again of this, I asked it before and no one has responded….

  424. Foo-man-choo says:

Thud-Where did the Silly Stripes come in? I saw a different mama ask Amski to make the Stripe style pants.

  425. JustPeachy says:

Silly Stripes is TMed and the design itself is intellectual property. No one said she couldnt put her own spin on silly stripes but that person was wanting to copy Monica’s work.

  426. JustPeachy says:

Whatever Nicole! I think you just wanted to be a member of the cool kids club and saw an in with Meg over that thread. You are a jerk and a horrible person and Im glad you finally showed your true colors.

  427. Shabbychic says:

Oh geez, I had to catch up on all that. I dont have much to say, other than bo bottoms blog post came before me, so her blog started the closing up shop rolling, not me. OK, and I am pretty sure I bought the first pair of Dwell pants and they were perfect. So now we have those questions answered. Carry on.

  428. my4monkeys says:

A jerk and a horrible person? wow. That was classy.

  429. Cheesewhiz says:

#394 – That is an ugly skirt.

    And WTH is “crogheting”?

  430. Shabbychic says:

Peach, I dont have a club. Seriously. I hang on my own. You know that.

  431. mdmr says:

444 actually it was quite classy considering the alternatives she could have chosen

  432. Shabbychic says:

I think I need to make a clarification. It’s not okay for anyone to try to copy anyones niche. We have been around this bend a million times. The deal here is that Pam had no idea about the owl and bo bottoms went on attack. The owl isnt even IMO part of it. It was the attack on someone who is looked very highly upon in the WAHM community and her reputation should have caused Aimee to think twice and contact her personally without making it a public matter. No more should anyone knock off flower embellishments, stripes of different stitches or monster faces. No matter who your friend is, the one knocking off or the one allegedly being knocked off, the rules remain the same. I am so sick and crack ass tired of the “rules” changing based upon personal relationships.

  433. Hmmmmm says:

448—werd on the copy/niche stuff. And I wish she hadn’t titled the blog post as she did, because I do think that sans the title it isn’t bad, just clarification.

  434. ~JC~ says:

Who is Pam? What’s her store name?

  435. DSDM2 says:

436: yes, blocking is obvious in photos.

Peach, some off the stitches are off. Not uniform. Mainly on the right side of her stitches for some reason.

  436. mmspirit7 says:

umm that silly strips lady isn’t the first sorry I know it for a fact and I know someone who’s been doing them a long time just not selling to the cd world. and sad thing is if she should start people would think she’s coping when she’s been doing it for some 20 years.

  437. theinvisible says:

Could I redirect everyone’s attention to post 316? It seems a real gem has been overlooked while following the current fray. Can I get a WTF?

  438. mmspirit7 says:

    umm wow

  439. naturalmamadot says:

#453 no shit right? I was waiting and hoping I wasnt the only one that fell on the floor directly after opening that link lmao

  440. yikes says:

oh my, wtf is that? looks like green pointy boobs on the bum… jolly green tatas.

  441. JustPeachy says:

Given what I’ve heard about you Nicole you should be so lucky that’s all I called you. I really was alarmed when you jumped on the thread given that there is talk about your attitude towards people but I gave you a chance. Not long after you started shit with Valerie in the wool thread about a stupid pair of pants. Then you have the balls to pick apart Aimee’s work.

  442. werd says:

wow what the fuck is that lady smoking?! Here, have a ball of fuzz and felt scraps, sewn together, to wear on your wrists!

Umm, only after I have slit them first.

    http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=24086457

  443. werd says:

annnnd this – I’m sorry, this isn’t “artsy yarn”. It’s a balled up pile of scraps – WITH THE FREAKING SNAPS FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE ONESIES SHE CUT STILL ON IT! Yeah, I want to knit with that crap. Totally. And TOTALLY pay $75 for it too!!

    http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15487074

  444. mmspirit7 says:

she has been in business since 9/08 and have like 32 sales but over 100 things listed that’s sad

  445. mmspirit7 says:

459 omg there is still a snap on one of them

  446. Thud says:

    Wow.
460 ~ 30 sales since then isn’t that bad, actually, there are plenty of folks with one or two in that time frame!

  447. JustPeachy says:

I’ve bought from an awesome etsy mama who has only 4 sales so I mean really that is no indication of quality.

  448. mmspirit7 says:

true…i was more shocked that 30 bought her stuff

  449. mmspirit7 says:

i know i wrote it’s sad LOL my thoughts are not comming out very well I think I will go watch ghost whisper thanks. sorry

  450. newhere says:

blocking is not always obvious in a pic. if it looks a bit off,, stitches a little uneven, chances are it is not blocked.

  451. nini02 says:

    LOL 459

  452. yikes says:

#458 – Le petit furball collection

  453. diudiaole says:

$75 for cut up wool onesie scraps? WTF

  454. yikes says:

    what the fug is that???

  455. theinvisible says:

Cashmere Art Yarn…$75…yeah, definitely a crack smoker.

  456. JustPeachy says:

Thats a cute skirt… if you want people to think you are too poor to afford even thrift store stuff. Seriously wtf is up with her stuff. Its not even really artsy.

  457. theinvisible says:

It’s so wanna-be-artsy that it touches pretentious on the way to being ridiculous. Imagine if you will what your reaction might be if you saw a random citizen on the street wearing something she has for sale.

  458. ~*~MOMMA~*~ says:

    ugh, really?

  459. JustPeachy says:

Id hand em a fiver and wish them the best of luck.

  460. theinvisible says:

I’d get laughed out of town if I dressed my kids like that. Even once. I get enough looks when she goes out in nice wool.

  461. JustPeachy says:

    That is darling!

  462. mmspirit7 says:

    I know right?

  463. .bin. says:

I am so over the whole “they’re copying silly stripes” thing. There are so many knit pants out there with almost the exact same configuration, anyone ever seen the kanaoko pants pattern?

no way, someone put seed stitch in the middle of the leg too?? COPIER. ugh.

  464. mmspirit7 says:

LOL 482 I hear you there is a pair of woolies I want and I am tring to find the mama that made them but if I can’t I will get them made.

  465. diudiaole says:

CC bums thread just caught my eye — http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=696706 she’s actually improved a lot since the ogre mitts

  466. diudiaole says:

Although 8 layers of flannel would take forever to dry I think… yikes… I made a 4 layer flannel fitted for my 2 month old and it takes as long or longer than some AIOs I have to dry…

  467. Incognizable says:

@471, Apparantly she thinks we need a Roman/Greek history lesson to soften the blow. Wow!

  468. werd says:

omg SO buying that cute hat for the new baby when we find out what it is!! thanks for the link!

  469. werd says:

486 LOL I read that! whackjob

  470. Hmmmmm says:

I kinda like those funky soakers and the skirt too! Maybe I’ve just seen similar in the high end children’s clothing industry. If you’re used to looking at Gymboree and plain jane interlock soakers, then yeah, it’s gonna look like crap to you.

  471. mmspirit7 says:

    your welcome werd.

  472. Laura says:

    437. who are you referring too?

  473. .bin. says:

489: me too. A designer I know in Toronto does fabulous recycled clothing($$$$$ though) and has a line of baby/toddler wear, and it’s fabulous stuff.
    http://www.susanharrisdesign.ca/

  474. Hmmmmm says:

492, I can’t see the baby/toddler line :(. That Etsy seller’s stuff reminds me of collections I’ve seen by IKKS (Baby and Kids).

  475. Shabbychic says:

    I love IKKS!!

  476. mmspirit7 says:

    who is ikks

  477. Flippin out says:

definitely a matter of taste. I love Oilily and some of the super funky kids lines, so that skirt is right up my ally. I was looking through some her sold items also and this was super cute:
    http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=14998176

  478. Hmmmmm says:

IKKS is a high end European clothing line. You can find their stuff online, but it’s usually pricey. I think I have a few pieces. I’m a bit obsessed with boutique clothes, cloth diapers was a natural spin off, lol!

  479. mmspirit7 says:

ahh ok I like my vintage stuff for dd on great news i found the wahm to make my longies now to find yarn I think what I have coming in isn’t right

  480. Hmmmmm says:

    I wish this was my lo’s size…
    http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=19535480

I might have to convo this chick for a custom.

  481. croghetingmama says:

Sorry about spamming I had heard the word before and had never known what it ment. I didnt mean to do that and it will not happen again.

  482. Hmmmmm says:

This Picky lady’s Flicker is making me drool!

    This is stunning:

    granny pocket pant front

  483. mmspirit7 says:

ok it’s used and you want how much for it and I don’t know if it’s the lighting or what but there looks to be stains I mean come on!!!!!!!!!!!

    http://hyenacart.com/prod_details.php?id=53182&vid=200001

  484. croghetingmama says:

$100.00 For one diaper! thats a joke right?

  485. Hmmmmm says:

She’s got better taste in diapers that in clothes, that’s for sure!

  486. Hmmmmm says:

    *than

  487. mmspirit7 says:

nope now I have seen NIP dipes go for that but this one is used and well looks like a stain on it. I mean I know some mamas were looking for the print but really

  488. mmspirit7 says:

I am thinking the mama that listed the 100.00 dipe doesn’t really want to sell it she has other stuff listed including nip goodmamas for much better prices

  489. mmspirit7 says:

like it better than that other stuff but not my taste. but better than all kids looking a like I have an issue with that. seems everyone here dresses there kids the same because we all shop in the same limited stores.

  490. Hmmmmm says:

Seriously! I mean how many diifferent things can you make with grass giraffes and ooga booga. Quite a few apparently. There is a lot of stuff out there beyond HC that is eco friendly, wahm friendly, and made in the US of A.

  491. mmspirit7 says:

510 I get that I do. just not my taste.

  492. mmspirit7 says:

LOL I so missed you point thing it’s time for bed yeah, I get people shocked because i am big on bonnets and with a twist. that I cd, the flowers I put on her hair and so many other things DD stands out she, one of a kind which she is. I shop every where LOL.

they stuff you link is just so not my taste but it is my cousins LOL just pray she don’t pg. she won’t handle it or not the baby daddy

  493. Hmmmmm says:

Shabby, TMs don’t seem to protect WAHMs too much actually; only protects their brand name:

A trademark is a word, name, symbol or device which is used in trade with goods to indicate the source of the goods and to distinguish them from the goods of others. A servicemark is the same as a trademark except that it identifies and distinguishes the source of a service rather than a product. The terms “trademark” and “mark” are commonly used to refer to both trademarks and servicemarks.

“Trademark rights may be used to prevent others from using a confusingly similar mark, but not to prevent others from making the same goods or from selling the same goods or services under a clearly different mark. Trademarks which are used in interstate or foreign commerce may be registered with the Patent and Trademark Office.

Who wants to knit me some Silly Stripes? J/K =)

  494. eeek says:

I think there’s a huge difference between the picky etsy chic & IKKS. Hers are flat out sewn badly, not funky, badly. Calling a lack of ability artistic license is silly, it’s like saying my kid paints like Jackson Pollock because he throws paint at a page. Her stuff’s going to fall to pieces.

  495. just_sayin says:

Shabby, you deliberately misunderstood what I was saying. That’s OK, because it’s obvious that I hit a nerve, which tells me that you *know you act like an elitist snob. I have no problem with what you buy, it’s when you go out of your way to make other posters who have a lower income feel inferior that I get upset. That post in your wool FSOT interest thread is a prime example. I don’t know the poster who asked if they were going to be competitively priced, but your response is the epitome of what I am talking about with you. It has nothing to do with what you buy, and everything to do with you going out of your way to make lower income posters feel inferior because you have more income. That’s low.

And before you tell me I must be jealous, we are also higher income. I just don’t go flaunting it everywhere to make myself feel better, and others feel bad. You should be ashamed of yourself for acting that way towards people who are working hard and struggling, especially in this economy.

  496. Flippin out says:

514, have you purchased anything from her? It seems as though it would be difficult to attest to the durability of the construction without trying her stuff. It is intentionally funky, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it is poorly constructed. I haven’t owned anything she has done, so I have no idea. FWIW I am a seamstress, so I can attest to the fact that just a straight seam does not make a well-constructed garment. I think it is fine to not like someone’s style, but it is something else entirely to make assumptions about their quality or ability. I think her feedback indicates her stuff is well made:
    http://www.etsy.com/feedback_public.php?user_id=6221274

  497. Hmmmmm says:

514…look at her Flicker, I def. think she can sew!!!

    josephine st clothing pics 015

Jeez…just because someone is breaking the “rules” doesn’t mean their stuff is made like crap.

  498. amessymama says:

All I know is that as soon as DD starts walking, I am ordering one of these dresses. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22548510

And if I knew someone that made cool & funky interlock capris, I’d get some to match.

I don’t know why all interlock is so freaking boring. Every time I see cute pants in boutiques, I wonder why no one tries to make something similar w/interlock. I wish I had the ability to sew.

  499. Flippin out says:

wow her flickr has me drooling too. Now I am curious who you are Hmmmmm. LOL
I also wanted to add, that doing what she does is MORE difficult than working with new materials such as cotton quilting fabrics or knits. Repurposing wool into useable and cool garments like that takes a lot of talent and ability. But I totally get that it doesn’t appeal to everyone. 🙂

  500. diudiaole says:

Does anyone remember the T&F thread where a buyer was unhappy with dipes w/the soaker sewn in capital “i” shaped b/c they bunched up inside after 1 wash and the wahm refused to refund since the dipes had been washed haha? Was the wahm ever revealed? Looky here:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/aimeevcb/2895595001/

  501. Flippin out says:

518, that pinafore is amazing! I bet Nissi @ Sapo Verde could do some funky interlock for you if you asked.

  502. Hmmmmm says:

Re: comment 513, sorry, that was for Peachy.

  503. Hmmmmm says:

520…that’s an awful stretch, I mean, I would think a lot of diaper makers sew their soakers down like that!

  504. Hmmmmm says:

Flippin…I will never say ;), LOL! We’ve got great taste! Maybe they’d like her stuff better if she sewed on Ooga Booga or Grass Giraffe patches…ROFLMAO!

  505. diudiaole says:

#523 — hmmm ok I just recall in that thread so many people being bewildered the WAHM had sewn in the soakers like that — it looks like it’s just begging to bunch imo

  506. Flippin out says:

And Aimee has already been chased off so I guess it is a moot point anyways.

  507. diudiaole says:

that flickr photo looks 100 times better than the first soaker someone linked to… or the wrist band thing… or the cut up onesies w/snaps still attached for $75…

  508. amessymama says:

    Something like these.

    http://www.trendytogs.com/boutique-childrens-clothes/Baby-Infant-Girl-Pants-Capris/Catimini-Spirit-Ethnique-Fuchsia-Cinched-Girl-Pant

    Or these: http://www.buttercupsboutique.com/pd_room_seven_34_pants_with_smocked_blouse_preorder_2-6.cfm

Not too funky, just little tiny details. Like the buttons at the bottom. And it looks like there are little pleats at the back hem of the blue ones.

I just love little details like that.

518-Thanks! Maybe I’ll check out Sapo Verde. Or I was thinking Dastinky (or however that’s spelled). I like how her stuff looks. Although I swore my children would never, ever wear character clothing, that Olivia stuff is pretty cute. But now that everyone in the diapering world wants it, it is losing its appeal to me.

  509. JustPeachy says:

Well I will say this. The WAHM world is alot different from the Target/Walmart/Kmart world. Sure copying isn’t illegal and sure someone could knock off Monica’s silly stripes if they really wanted to and they could get away with it.
However think of the reputation that they would essentially be giving their business. You could have the best craftsmanship in the world but if you are a copycat, chances are you won’t make it in the WAHM world.
Not only does her craftsmanship suck she’s already copied one mama and now she is trying to copy another mama.

  510. Shabbychic says:

I was simply responding 515, to your comment abot “every” post I make. So I went back to look up and found that nope, not only not “every” post but in no post did I mention at least in April how much I spent. And as for the wool thread, I am ever so sorry that it gets ever so boring when people ask me if I will take $20.00 for something I spent $150.00 on. I dont have the expectation of ripping people off so they shouldnt have it of me. I should “competitively” price my wool? Yeah whatever with that. Simple as that. Oh and also, I never said anyone was jealous, that was lots and lots of other people.

But Peachy, if the person who copies is one of your friends, the rules change right?

  512. amessymama says:

    Uhhh, I thanked myself. I meant 521.

  513. werd says:

the clothing you guys pointed out is cute. But the wrist covers? Eww. I’m sorry but it looks like something my dog coughed up, he’s an adventurous eater.

  514. JustPeachy says:

No Meg. Im objective. If one of my friends copied then Id say something (privately). Its all about intention Meg.

  515. Shabbychic says:

But you would never publicly defend a friend that copied? Careful now.

  516. JustPeachy says:

Point me to where I did since you obviously think thats how I am.

  517. just_sayin says:

Once again, Shabby, you are deliberately misunderstanding what I am saying. Or are you just that dumb? It has nothing to do with monetary amounts, and everything to do with attitude. I could probably link you to at least 3 posts recently where you are being unbearably snobby. But, then you have plenty of friends, so why bother being a decent human being, right? [rolls eyes]

The copycat thing is so first grade. It’s really annoying hearing people accusing others of being copycats. For one thing, their idea probably isn’t as original as they think it is, secondly why should we be forced to buy a product only from one WAHM? What if she has a great idea, but her workmanship sucks ass or her customer service is lacking?

  518. Hmmmmm says:

537…the copying thing can be taken too far though. There was someone in the SP thread (shout out) that was saying that PB&E was copying Claudia because they started selling wool doublers. Ummm, Loveybums sells wool doublers and so does another lady on HC, ‘cept they are crocheted. And come on people they are DOUBLERS, lol!

528…I know the lady who owns Trendy Togs! Catimini is one of my favorite brands, probably comprises 1/4 my girls’ wardrobe.

  519. Hmmmmm says:

Sorry 537 that was to Peachy =)

  520. Shabbychic says:

Just Sayin- That’s it. I am just that dumb. Don’t I seem it? Don’t I seem really really dumb. I mean it’s all right there, my posts, my words. You hit the nail on the head. Dumb dumb dumb. Now don’t go making yourself look dumb, ok. We all know I can be a bitchy snot, but dumb, lol. Yeah, never been accused of dumb. That’s entirely hysterical. I think you’ll even find my greatest non fans to use many expletives, but dumb. Try again.

And you are right, I do have plenty of friends. Even some that are friends with you. Just Sayin. Ha.

There are lots of people that know how to knit, but it doesn’t mean that they can or should be knitting at a WAHM level. I don’t know anything about Aimee’s knitting, but I see where Meg is coming from. And it’s not cool to post anyones full name oh your public blog, that’s just immature, and wrong.

and Shabby dumb? lol, right. Far from it. And why should she be all butterflies and rainbows? It doesn’t matter what she says it will always be wrong in the eyes of you blog posters. She could post that she went to a garage sale and bought lots of “treasures” and then she’d get ripped for not leaving those items to people that don’t have money and need used socks for five cents.

  522. Kate says:

I believe the name Silly Stripes is the TM and if someone copied the stripes/stitches they could not call them Silly Stripes. I don’t think trying o copy is the best idea. If someone wants to make there own pattern with different stitches have at it but don’t call them Silly stripes.

  523. me says:

    484-Yep! I noticed that too.

  524. jilliness says:

this surely can’t last on ds too much longer

  525. diudiaole says:

I don’t get why they are all so upset about the sticky peas thing… so she decided she didn’t want them, is she not supposed to try to get her money back or what?

  526. diudiaole says:

Ok… I’ve read the SP thread… this lady purchased 60, $25 diapers? So Claudia made and the lady spent $1500?? Are these people assuming Claudia would have wanted to refund the $1500 and use those diapers to stock her store? Yeah right.
