Oh that is too funny:giggle:

Or do you really not get it?

I get it and I still find it :yuck:

I never found the “rat poison” debate here on DS amusing either.

I think that is pretty stupid… i mean is it suppose to be a knock on FFing mamas?? and if so they would never buy it and why would BFing mamas buy it?? it wouldn’t even make sense?? stupid :headscratch:

Re: Is this a JOKE?!!
I don’t think it is a knock on FFing moms. I think it is a knock on BFing moms.

And I think it is in bad taste. Who would put that on their child?? Why advertise the fact that BFing didn’t work out? And how many people in real life would get that? Geez…

Personally, I think it is very inappropriate, hurtful, spiteful and just plain mean. I wouldn’t take that diaper for free let alone $10.

Re: Is this a JOKE?!!
I’m a no-regrets, I did what was best for my child, proud FF’ing mom. I can’t tell if it’s a stab at us or at those people who called formula rat poison. Either way, I don’t think it’s funny. I think it’s rather disgusting.

On a side note – please for the love of all that is holy, rotate your flippin’ pictures!! :banghead:

I don’t see why people are so upset and disgusted by the diaper.  There was a debate on DS not too long ago where someone compared formula to rat poison.  It was a hurtful debate, and feelings are STILL hurt by that thread. However, this diaper is a knock at the people that were being asses and saying formula is like rat poison. It’s not meant to hurt any feelings, and the person that made it surely didn’t do it to make someone feel bad.  I’m sure it was done to say “if formula is rat poison, my baby is thriving on rat poison.”  So, which is it, is my sense of humor too loose, or are there quite a few mamas lacking their sense of humor in that thread.

I got the joke-it’s obviously for FFing moms who are happy with the formula their baby gets and is poking fun at the people calling it rat poison. I don’t get the big deal either.

However, I would not wear that in public, since most people would have no idea what it was referencing and might think you’re crazy.

  2. I_Rock says:

I understand what the maker is taking a jab at, but it was a hurtful debate on DS, so I guess I see where people are coming from being upset by the diaper. I mean, why bring it up again? That debate was quite awhile back.

  3. Well, maybe they don’t need the diaper anymore and are trying to sell it?

  4. I_Rock says:

No, that “imakeclothdiapers” person on Spots is always selling her homemade diapers on Spots, they are all over the place. She auctions them started for a penny quite often, and they usually don’t sell. Makes me wonder if she made this diaper in particular to draw attention to herself.

  5. Nevermind… it’s new. Don’t know why they brought it up again. Maybe bringing up old shit is in the air.

  6. Lilo says:

Count me in as one who doesn’t have a sense of humor this morning… I think it’s tacky and while it may be supporting FF, it’s also stooping to the level of the idiots calling it rat poison to begin with.

  7. Jennifer (ferrferr) says:

I laughed. But then again I have a child who was fed “rat poison” and she too is just fine. If you don’t like what is written on the diaper then 1) Don’t look at it and 2) Don’t buy it. Pretty simple really. Good to see we have diaper police out in full force telling us what is acceptable to put on our kid. *eyeroll*

  8. Nicki says:

    I think Suzanne made it…

  9. The Orignial Just Me says:

I agree! I think that some people are really insecure with their decision to FF and thats why the debate was so hurtful to them. A lot of mamas claim that the militant bfers are the one who make them feel insecure but I belive no one can make you feel that way unless you let them.

  10. Sarah says:

    “I think Suzanne made it…”

    ————————————

The diaper didn’t make me laugh, but that did! 😀

I missed the whole “rat poison” thread that everyone keeps referencing. Who started that? And what exactly happened?

  11. I_Rock says:

Somebody said that if you FF, you might as well be feeding your child Rat Poison. That is the very short version.

  12. Amanda says:

I did NOT see the listing but I will say that I have a few diapers from IMAKECLOTHDIAPERS, she is also the owner of AMAZING GRACE DIAPERS on HC. She had a diaper that said gooddaddy on it a few days ago, THAT I thought was hilarious! I will say that I LOVE her diapers, they are great quality, inexpensive, and she has great customer service. I am kinda shocked that she would do soemthing like this though….

  13. Nicki says:

Now there is a lotto for it. I entered. heehee.

  14. giggle says:

From what I have seen, she typically asks people what they want and whips one up and sees if it sells…. that’s how I got mine LOL. Though it’s decent quality it did shrink quite a bit….. chances are that, as was posted, somone ordered it custom and then backed out, and I could see that happening.

TBH I don’t see how this is worse than any of those slightly off color diapes out there! Granted the debate on DS was probably very hurtful, aren’t they all lately? And in essence she has stood up for the FF mommas, which I think is great!

I have to agree, if you don’t like it, don’t look at it or don’t buy it! That simple! We already have enough of the government “policing” what is right/wrong with parenting, medications and our daily lives, I don’t think we need a bunch of Mommas telling us what is appropriate……

Wasn’t there a thread similar to this about the rebel flag diape on ebay? I guess I just don’t get why some choose to be overly sensitive to an item… how you view it is up to you, don’t assume the worst, and granted you are entitled to your opinion just as I am entitled to ignore it.

  15. Lilo says:

In the same context of “don’t like it, don’t look at it”. I kinda feel the same way about having an opinion. “Don’t like it, don’t read it…”

  16. giggle says:

“In the same context of “don’t like it, don’t look at it”. I kinda feel the same way about having an opinion. “Don’t like it, don’t read it…””

    Hence why I responded with:

“granted you are entitled to your opinion just as I am entitled to ignore it.”

  17. Birdie says:

Eh, whatever. I don’t think it was made to offend anyone or bring up bad blood from the past. If it said “Formula is rat poison” then I’d have an issue. I wouldn’t put it on my child if I was a FF Mom, but I also don’t put things on my child that expresses we exclusively BF, either. That’s my business and I don’t feel the need to flaunt it. Just my personal belief.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. 😀

  18. DiaperTwatters says:

Why is the Maker getting flamed? Someone requested that diaper! She wasn’t “taking jabs” and she wasn’t even the person that started that thread. If it was that debate was so hurtful, maybe the OP was the one who should have been more considerate.

  19. I just read more of the thread. Turns out someone asked for it to be made because of a playgroup they’re in where she’s been told she might as well be feeding her little on rat poison. She had that diaper made up especially to go to that group. Now the original maker is trying to sell it because the buyer decided she wanted something else.

  20. I_Rock says:

Eh well. maybe she should have put that in her listing then there probably wouldn’t have been such a backlash.

  21. I don’t think people need to defend their diapering items in order to not have others be bitchy about it. I think having to explain why you think a diaper is cute/funny or whatever is a bit ridiculous.

  22. subpariq says:

I think it is in really poor taste. Wouldn’t put it on my kid. And I reserve the right to comment on whatever I please. Particulary something that I fin offensive. And i do find that a bit offensive. I still recognize that my opinion is not taken into account when another parent chooses what to buy for his or her kid. But if you don’t want people commenting, you probably shouldn’t post it on the web.

  23. Sheila says:

I agree with subpariq. I don’t really CARE what people put on their kids, but I stated my opinion on this, which is, I don’t find it funny. I find it childish actually.

  24. DiaperTwatters says:

Eh well. maybe she should have put that in her listing then there probably wouldn’t have been such a backlash.
    ——————————————
Yeah, it was her fault people started making ASSumptions.

  25. your mama says:

wow – I love how people are getting all down on her about her diapers without actually owning one. I LOVE her fitteds and she is a super nice mama. I cannot believe people get so worked up over stupid things on DS and here – get a life!! And don’t make jabs at someone you don’t know!

  26. siriusmama says:

OMG I can’t believe I was quoted here! Woot *happy dance*
