Just wanted to say I think this blog is hilarious. I frequent DS, but am not a hardcore poster. I think its funny to watch all the drama (and have caused some myself…not on purpose…but it happens!) Get a bunch of women together, and its bound to happen…a lot!
I seriously just did this because I thought some of the stuff was funny, and there are so many things that get deleted and no one sees it. I don’t think DS is bad, just very funny. I hope no one is really offended by this, and if they are, they are more than welcome to let me know. I am not against deleting something if someone asks.

I got linked to it when someone submitted rannenmoms post saying she wanted to be on the blog. I ALMOST commented then, but noticed there had already been speculation as far as who it was. I figured if I posted, it might be easier to figure out who I am, because of the timing of the post.

It sucks that things have to go down like this. But DS is a huge site, and I feel like there is little that the little man can do. In general, I have no issues with the mods. Its a thankless job sometimes, and unfortunately in public forums, things do need to be moderated, if for no no other reason that there are nutsos out there not inteersted in diapers or family or children.
However, these nutsos are few and far between, and I think DS is overly moderated. When you create too many rules, they start to intertwine and become a big old mess.
But protest1 went about it the WRONG way. Firstly, she should have spoken out with her own username. By creating a pseudonym, so lost some of her ground from the get go, and people closed their ears to what she was saying. Also, she should have worded it more diplomatically. There are two sides to the story, and mods arent always wrong.
If you can word your argument and at least address the other side’s positive aspects a few times, people are more likely to think you are fair and balanced (to steal my least-favorite news station’s motto, ugh).
And furthermore, if she had posted following the DS rules, the post really couldnt have been deleted just because it was negative. I mean, if a mod had done that, I think she would have found additional support for that sensorship.
Overall, the thread was too combative and not really constructive.

So I have to say…this site is too funny and so the way I think..here’s my story…I was snooping around ebay for a deal one some diapers, anyway I came across a goodmama (I had never heard of these before, guess I’m not up on my cloth options), the auction was at $71 with a day or so to go. I’m thinking, must be a “stash” of diapers, so I look. Nope, ONE diaper, that’s a second! What?!? I just want to let everyone know what REALLY happened and WHY I was banned. THIS IS THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH….As I have NOTHING to hide or be ashamed of.

So we all know that I am a member of another forum (MM). Yes I had a link in my siggy, I was told by Luvmybabies (an Admin) that this is INDEED OKAY and NOT against the rules. During the month of February there was a picture contest, you know, one of those, go vote for my kid kinda things….well, I made a thread to vote for Michael in this contest….bam, warning. Not allowed. OKAY FINE. I didnt realize that was a rule, as I see so many of these kinds of threads. Harmless in my eyes, really. Its not like I was selling PORN. SOOOO then there was another contest shortly after, I posted in my siggy that if you wanted to help me win the contest PM me…since I KNEW I could not start a thread about the contest. Well, APPARENTLY, EVER TIME I EVER MENTIONED MM, whether it was about the contest or NOT, I was given strikes. So I finally had a FINAL warning from Luvmybabies. I removed ALL things associated with MM from my siggy, just to be safe. NEVER mentioned MM EVER AGAIN after that warning. So this was FEB. weeks ago mamas. Fast foward to Monday. Most people are aware that I lost my baby over the weekend. To keep my mind off of all pain of my MC I had decided that maybe I will open a HC and make some embellished prefolds. SO I posted in the DIAPER CHATTER FORUM On SUNDAY that I was looking for a name for my business, if I start one, that I would be selling embellished PFs and my recycled wool. I was asking for SUGGESTIONS for a name, Not selling anything. Got many replies and was really happy about getting this going. I PMed an Admn to apply for the wahm forums. Kylie and so and so Mommy (another DS Admin) Pmed me and said, “hey mama, I just want to let you know that you are approved for the wahm forum and I moved your post to the product testing forum SO YOU CAN GET MORE REPLIES TO YOUR THREAD. Nothing about spam, not even a mention that I did ANYTHING wrong. Fast I went to update my MC post, was able to and then hit refresh and got a banned message. In this message it said the following:
You have been banned for the following reason:
signature violations and sending/posting spam – already on third warning
Now, go read what my banned siggy says, it has some other infraction about bad mouthing to someone, WHICH I DID NOT DO.
Date the ban will be lifted: 06-11-2008, 12:00 PM
Now, When Juan and Lee were asked about my banning they said that it was because of my siggy having 5 lines instead of 4.
Now this is true, it did have five lines. Want to know why? Because I had a miscarriage and when I removed my pregnancy things, it centered everything and created and extra line.
So which is it. The Post that I wanted a HC store name or the siggy?
That is all I want to know. I have emailed OVER AND OVER AND OVER again, and NOT ONE admin has gotten back to me.
I am asking you all to NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS. This was OBVIOUSLY PREMEDITATED…..they wanted me out so I was WATCHED LIKE A HAWK.

I reviewed the website foru.ms a few months ago and gave it a pretty poor review. To be honest, it has surprised me over the past few months. The site has become more open and, although it is still overflowing with anti-Mormons, the owner has allowed LDS members to moderate a forum for discussion about LDS topics (called a “community”). A pretty Christian move, if you ask me. That may change in the near future.
Lee Dodd, who first came to my attention for his recent participation in the controversial sale of ReligiousForums.com, has purchased foru.ms and made his opinion on Mormonism and Mormons in the community crystal clear. I’m including a few examples from his announcement thread.
The question that everyone (or at least the Mormons and their antagonists) were wondering came up quickly. He was asked whether or not be believed that Mormonism is a cult. His response was clear, concise, and left no question. “Yes sir, I do.”
This was then followed up with the question, “How do you plan to include our LDS (that’s Mormon for those who may not know) friends? Can they have a congregation area even if they are a cult?” Lee responded, “Excellent question and not sure exactly what my feelings are on that. Not sure if I want them to have their own forum, definitely something to consider and decide upon.” So, something that was debated heavily for weeks, will now be open for discussion again.
Further discussion about “non-Christians” being moderators on the forums followed, with Lee saying that he wasn’t sure that was in his vision.
I’m not going to say that Lee is a bigot. I don’t know him, and I don’t know that is the case. I was recently reading an article (I wish I could remember the source) that mentioned how open prejudice against Mormonism is one of the still accepted forms of discrimination in our country. This is a great example of that.
Could you imagine the outrage if Lee had posted that he would have to think about allowing blacks who consider themselves Christian to participate freely in the forums? Honestly, I don’t see much of a difference and 150 years ago, that might have been an acceptable position for many Southern Christians. Things may not have changed much in some circles. It seems that the prejudice has shifted its focus.
What I will say is that these comments show he is an inexperienced CEO and has a lot to learn. He is also horribly misinformed about Mormonism. He may surprise everyone, but so far, it looks like foru.ms is in for some more change and turmoil.
I would invite Lee to send me his case for Mormonism being a cult and non-Christian at any time, and I will happily respond to it on this blog. If not, a public apology would be a nice way to start mending fences.

I just spoke to my mom and got some terrible news and I’m just in shock.
My great-aunt and uncle are 2 of the most wonderful people. My aunt is 78 and my uncle is 80. She just finished up chemo for the second time in her life (beat cancer the first time and doing great this time too). They are both strong minded, amazing people that care about everyone.
During the time that my aunt was going through her first round of chemo (a few years back), she had a live in nurse. That nurse also cared for my grandmother when she was dying of cancer and for a family friend for the same reason. She is a terrific woman, but this time around, she has grown older and too frail to care for my aunt. So her daughter took her place.
Her daughter has 2 kids…single mom. She did a great job with my aunt, but was caught stealing a few months back. Credit card numbers, checks, cash, etc. My aunt’s daughter dealt with it and organized a way to pay it back. The woman seemed legitimately sorry. Said she was having issues with her kids and needed money and just got so desperate and she would do anything to pay it back. She has been and things have been great, until my uncle noticed something else missing.
He confronted her about it last night.
I’m not sure what happened, but she ended up beating him to a pulp in front of my aunt. He is in the trauma unit at the local hospital here. His skull was bashed in, tons of broken facial bones and other broken bones. They dont’ know if he’ll make it. He’s 80 years old. A mother of 2 beat an 80 year old man into a coma, right in front of his 78 year old wife of 53 years.
She is in jail, the condo is a crime scene…and according to my mom, there is blood in every single room of the place.
I can’t believe this happened to them. I am horrified, sad, my heart hurts so much right now and I can’t stop crying.

I just found this blog! Wish I had read it earlier! I like DS and all but they banned me for spamming. Which is sooooo not true! I’m an Avon rep. When someone asked a question about Avon and I simply answered they would give me a strike. Never to anyone else though that may be a rep and answered a question or talked about Avon products they used. I think the mods are a little wacked! Even after explaining that I got TWO strikes for the same exact incident they didn’t care. They banned me. It really pissed me off but what can you do? They don’t allow you access to any of the mods to dispute it after you are banned. YUCK. I’m off to find a new mom community now. But I’m not feeling the ones I’ve found so far like CM. Any suggestions?
